he has been compared to the greatest of all time (the G.O.A.T) Michael Jordan, who is known as
the best to ever play the game of basketball. And Lebron being compared to Jordan, is something
extraordinary because nobody has ever been that close and even been considered to be better
than “the G.O.A.T” besides Kobe Bean Bryant. And obviously Lebron’s fans they say Lebron is
the G.O.A.T. Jordan fans they say Jordan is the G.O.A.T.
So there is this fight between the fans, but their opinion doesn't really matter because they are
just giving their opinion, but the majority of the fans think Michael Jordan is the G.O.A.T.
Lebron James is the only player that has ever been close to Michael Jordan in terms of statistics
for instance; if we look at

Most valuable Player award( MVP), Lebron James won four MVP awards and Michael Jordan won five MVP awards.
But what makes people say that Michael
Jordan is better than Lebron James is the number of championships that they have. Jordan has
won six straight championships and he did it during his fifteen year of NBA career.
So far Lebron James has won three so far and he is in his fifteenth year of NBA career, And in
my opinion this is what people forget, Lebron might not win six championship in a row just like
Jordan did, but he can still win as many championships has Jordan did or even win more,
because he is a great player and still did not retire yet. But all in all Lebron James has always
looked up to Michael Jordan ever since he started playing basketball. He once was questioned
about how Michael Jordan had an impact on his love for basketball and he said, " First of all, I wear the number because of Mike, James said, referring of course to his
No. 23 jersey. I think I fell in love with the game because of Mike, just seeing what he
was able to accomplish. When you're growing up and you're seeing Michael Jordan, it's
almost like a god. So I didn't ever believe I could be Mike. I started to focus on myself on
other players and other people around my neighborhood because I never thought that

you could get to a point where Mike was.I shot fadeaways before I should have, James said. I wore a leg sleeve on my leg and folded it down so you saw the red part. I wore black and red shoes with white socks. I wore short shorts so you could see my undershorts underneath. I didn't go bald like Mike, but I'm getting there7. So it is fair to say that they are both great players and just like Michael Jordan had an extraordinary career, so will Lebron James, because not only are they phenomenal players, but they also are very dominant on the court. In my opinion Lebron James is not good of a shooter but he always tries to impact the game somehow. “That was my mindset when I started playing the game. I was like, If I’m not scoring the ball, how can I still make an impact on the game?’ It’s carried me all the way to this point now, and it’s going to carry me for the rest of my career because scoring is not No. 1 on my agenda.”8 7 Joe Vardon . ( 2017, May 26). LeBron James didn't have to 'be like Mike' to break Jordan's playoff scoring record http://www.cleveland.com 8 Nicholas Goss.( 2017, May 26). LeBron James Gives Great Response To Breaking Michael Jordan’s Playoff Scoring Record. https://nesn.com 11 002265-002 Male athletes particularly the players from the National Basketball Association ( NBA), are oftentimes portrayed as role models for the younger people , who also have a dream of becoming not only like them but even better than them, that is why they look up to them in order to follow the right steps to succeed in what they want to become in the future, which is in this case to become a professional basketball player. The majority of the superstars in the NBA are African-Americans, and oftentimes these players come from poor neighborhoods for instance; Lebron James a man who is known as the best player of all the times currently and a very successful man in life. But as we all know in every story there will always be a bad side of it, which is in this case Lebron James was raised by a single mother in a poor neighborhood in Akron Ohio. Sometimes they did not have anything to eat, Lebron James sometimes could not go to school because his mother was not financially stable so after awhile he had to quit school because his could not afford it, so Lebron had to quit school at the age of eighteen. But the good thing is that he went from high school straight to the NBA league and that is when his life changed completely and became better. But even though he became a superstar, Lebron James has never forgotten where he came from (Akron Ohio), he always let everybody know how much he loves his hometown and that he really appreciates the city.So he has always gives back to the community. The point is that no matter how successful these players become, they will always stick to their roots, they will never forget where they come from because that is what raised and made them the men that they are today. But they truly inspire the younger people not only because they are phenomenal player, but because sometimes they have the same background 12 002265-002 story ( not financially stable and can not afford education) so they use this story to motivate them, because in the back of their minds they might be saying for instance “If Lebron James and I come from the same situation and he made it to the NBA, so can I”.
So these are the true things
that make these NBA athletes being portrayed as great role models for these young men,
because they truly inspire and motivate them to accomplish their goals in life. But with a lot of
success, there will always be doubters, people that try to drag you down because you are to
successful and they are not, people that are jealous of your accomplishments. So in my opinion,
the mass and social media does a tremendous job of updating the fans with what is going on in
these athletes lives, because as fans we are always curious of what is happening with them, one
of the reasons might be because we just want to live like them and the other reason is that we are
just curious about what they are doing. And also usually these NBA athletes are portrayed as
people that do not care about anything else unless it is about basketball, which is not true
because they impact the game of basketball in so many ways on and off the court. They are care about the community so that is why they always give back to the hometown that raised, because it is not only a way to show that they do not care about basketball only, but they also are aware of they position in the society and they are aware of how influential they are, so they use that same influence to give them opportunities and inspire them too.
Michael Jordan vs Lebron James Michael Jordan, in his prime, was thought of as one of the greatest basketball champions of all time. A shooting guard, standing at six-six, Jordan was able to out play anyone in his position. He started his career at the University of North Carolina, where he helped his team win a national championship. He then was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the 1984-85 season. While playing for the Bulls, Jordan received many awards such as, MVP, five championships, Olympic gold medals, slam dunk contests, and many more defensive and offensive awards.
In conclusion this is how these two allstars are beyond incredible and this is how they show their talents in different ways. This also shows how American culture has changed a lot. We see how Michael Jordan talent differs from Lebron James talent but they are compared too as both “The best to ever play the game of basketball”.
Comparing LeBron James and Michael Jordan is like comparing apples and oranges. It just isn’t a fair comparison. There are too many differences. There are too many variables. There are too many fallacies that are involved in making a fair assessment to determine who the greatest basketball player of all time is.
Then baseball came along in his life, and he signed a contract with the Chicago White Sox. Michael had the great base running ability and defense, but couldn’t hit a lick of the ball. Then on April 2, 1995, he decided he couldn’t stay away from basketball. He came back in the middle of the season and the bulls were unable to achieve what they have done in recent years. During the off-season, Michael was approached by Warner Bros. for a movie with their characters the looney tunes. It would later become known as the movie Space Jam released in November 1996. This year the Bulls came back better than ever, setting an astounding 72-10 record. The day the Bulls clinched their 4th championship with Michael it was Father’s Day. This is the first time the Bulls would celebrate without James Jordan is there. Michael would have another astounding accomplishment by setting the first-ever triple double in the NBA all-star game. The Bulls had once again ended up making it to the Finals. The Bulls would split the first four games with the Utah Jazz. Then comes the fifth game of the Finals, which Michael is most famous for the flu game. There are many stories for why Michael looked sluggish on the court, but it was stated as flu like symptoms or the actual flu. Although Jordan was for sure weakened on the court, he rose to the occasion. The Bulls would go on
At every level of basketball there are players that have shined on and off the court, this is true for two exceptional players like Michael Jordan and LeBron James. The debate over these two marvelous athletes and who is the better of the two, has divided sports fans since LeBron earned his first Finals Championship.
Michael Jordan can say he has had an amazing career and accomplished many things in his life. From his childhood to adulthood, he has done remarkable things. Most people hope to have a life and career like
According to Time magazine,?Jordan was the best player ever to play in the game?. He changed the way basketball was played.
Michael Jordan, what comes to your mind when you hear that name? Michael had played for the bulls and had gotten 6 championship rings with the team. Well, is it just me or does that sound like a lot of time in the game of basketball? In 1982 he took a big step up from highschool to college, where he wanted to pursue the basketball dream. He went to college at North Carolina where he played NCAA basketball for just one year before he was drafted in 1984. All eyes were on him when he went on the court, because that just how good he was at the game of basketball. Michael Jordan is one of the greatest players in NBA history, maybe even the greatest of all time.
When people think of basketball and the great players that play today we all think of Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, and I mean lets face it we can name players whom play the game very well till we are blue in the face. All these players that were thinking of and naming have something in common which is none of them can compare to what Michael Jordan has done to the game. Some people say he destroyed the game making it that everything people accomplish is compared to what he has done in his career. Which happens when everyone i...
How do you measure the greatness of the two biggest NBA superstars of all time? Michael Jordan is significantly known for being the ultimate basketball player in NBA history. However, LeBron James is considered one of the top basketball players in the NBA now. There inspiring leadership and unbelievable talent on the court makes it hard for us to choose a winner. James is continuously breaking NBA history, but Jordan's mighty legacy is considered unbreakable. Why can't both exceptional players be valued and appreciated, rather than compared?
When I began my report I didn’t know much about Michael Jordan, but I did know that he was “undoubtedly the greatest player in the history of the NBA'; (“Michael Air Jordan'; 1). It seemed like every time I heard the word basketball I also heard the name Michael Jordan. There’s just no avoiding him. If you are watching television you might see him playing basketball or golf. If you were reading a magazine there will probably be an advertisement with his picture. If you were walking down the street you might see a kid wearing Air Jordan shoes or a Bulls jersey with “JORDAN'; on the back of it. This man is probably as recognizable as the Pope.
Due to the mark Michael Jordan has left on the world as the “G.O.A.T.”, it will be very difficult for any player to surpass his legacy. Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and LeBron James all have similarities of Michael Jordan but, out of all three players James is the closest. LeBron has the most similarities and the potential to surpass Michael Jordan’s legacy with his personality, stats and he popularity on and off the court. Even though James has the potential to surpass his legacy, there is still a very long journey ahead of James if he ever wants to be considered the “G.O.A.T.”.
First, we will celebrate LeBron James’s accomplishments in the NBA. There are over 400 players in the NBA. These players are on the battlefield, fighting day after day because they all know only one can become the Most Valuable Player. LeBron James rose above all, claiming the MVP award, not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 times. Not only is LeBron James an MVP, but he is also a 13-time All-Star player. LeBron James garnered enough votes from the fans, the players, and the media to become an All-Star like a presidential candidate getting enough votes from the voters to become the President.
Since neither of the players was active during the same era and never went head-to-head during their primes, we cannot conclusively decide who is best. Clearly, as evident from the huge list of awards both players have complied, both Michael Jordan and LeBron James have forever changed the game of basketball. Granted, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. I believe that both Jordan and James are two of the greatest basketball superstars to have ever lived.
Michael Jordan, portrayed by Jim Naughton in the biography Taking To The Air: The Rise of Michael Jordan, is well regarded as not only the greatest basketball player of all time but also the face of a generation. During the mid to late 1980s NBA basketball was simply treading water. As a result of the lack of a marketable superstar, the NBA was losing popularity to the National Football League and Major League Baseball. Following Jordan’s emergence, the NBA’s attendance rose dramatically and it’s worldwide popularity skyrocketed. Michael Jordan returned basketball to its past popularity in the United States and revolutionized the way the world viewed the game of basketball. (Harriman) Michael Jordan’s life is succinctly depicted in Taking to The Air: The Rise of Michael Jordan. Jim Naughton focuses on Jordan’s influence on worldwide sports and culture as one of the most publicized and marketed athletes of all time. Naughton explains the circumstances in Jordan’s upbringing that gave him the ability to be a humungous star. This biography is examined by Kirkus Reviews. They describe Naughton’s biography: “Besides offering a solid chronological biography and record of Michael Jordan’s basketball career, here Naughton also gives an astute assessment of this superstar’s impact on society.” (“Taking to the Air”) The article in the Kirkus Review explains that this biography investigates Jordan’s impact on marketing while telling the story of his life. Like Kirkus Reviews, I too believe that Naughton’s work goes into great description about Jordan’s upbringing and later career while also examining his cultural impact. Throughout his life, Michael Jordan has topped the sports and entertainment worlds by becoming the greatest basketball pl...
