Mexico is a country with many serious UDHR ( Universal Declaration of Human Rights) law violations. UDHR laws are a set of guidelines that the United Nations (U.N) made that all countries should follow by, but these guidelines aren't enforced. Article 5- Freedom from torture and degrading treatment as well as innocent until proven guilty are guidelines broken often. As humans, we should have the right to personal security without having to worry about enforced disappearance. Another really big issue is discrimination against journalists, many journalists who write or try to write about Mexico are being threatened or their families are. The Mexican government has made little progress in fixing these issues. This is because no one is trying to stop the people committing these crimes and the government is helping to cause these problems with enforced disappearances and torture.
Mexico is a large country with a population of 122 million people. The capital of Mexico is Mexico City which has the largest population out of the any other state in Mexico. An enforced disappearance is when someone gets abducted or imprisoned by the government secretly. This is a problem that many journalist have to be cautious with. Many get threatened or killed if they write something about the government that makes Mexico look bad or exposes government secrets. In over 60 cases, Human Rights Watch found that government agents talked to crime groups about making people “disappear” and after they would have money transported to them for them and their families. In 2007 it was reported that more than 25,000 people “disappeared” with little to no evidence why. In recent years the Mexican government has not owned up to these “disappearances” so the U.N. is obligated to become
