While it is against some religions to celebrate your birthday, it is a tradition for Hispanic families to celebrate this special moment with a massive party. This type of event helps create a socially enjoyable environment which can later be a good thing in life. Positive environment and gatherings helps build new beginnings and celebrate life. Creating new memories and spending time with family and friends impacts each individual and is a significant part of growing up. Mexican families go all the way when it comes to celebrating the day you get a year older, and by all the way, I mean total madness. A month before the actual day, everyone is busy preparing for the big day, from food, music, to decorations all worth about minimum $15,000 USD. The family uses this time to remind you that you should be grateful you are alive. Getting to celebrate this special event, not only helps to look back and learn from certain negative life events, but also have the ability to change some of those in the near future. For people who rejoice this moment, it helps them to create a social personal life. Families of the Hispanic culture often spend time being grateful for having a healthy life, thanking God for what you have now, and hope to better the person you have become. In Hispanic culture, and other parts of the world, it is considered to be your special day where everything is about you. The day that you were born is celebrated by everyone that you know and it is a time when your family and friends gather round to celebrate you getting a year older.
