We live in an age where change is current, the future is unsure, and we feel we have very little control over our circumstances. This realization will bring the narcissist to questioning of his or her false Self. One must remember that you cannot fight fire with fire, the professionals use water! When the Super Mighty Penguin comes to feel emotionally and physically empty and at the end of its road, it will need to find professional help, as its false self will have run its course and/or will be out of control. And this is the doorway to finding one's true self, the doorway to the inner castle.
Needless to say, transformation from narcissism to altruism is sometimes a frightful and arduous journey. Osho said it well when he stated in the ''The Book of Secrets'': the fear of transformation is just like the fear of death. Transcending the narcissistic nature of a person into higher consciousness will be the most important journey of the Super Mighty Penguin. The role of the Metaphysical Minister and Counselor in the narcissist's journey will come as a heartfelt listener and a loving signpost, guiding the Super Mighty Penguin from one step to the next on the Maslow pyramid.
An example of such self-discovery that comes to mind is Julia Cameron who discovered her writing through spirituality, as she so well describes in her book ''The Artist's Way.'' She was suffering from alcoholism, which produced a block in her creativity. Until she decided to get rid of the habit, she couldn't even find a job.
