The middle ages, also known as the medieval ages are very different from that of the Roman empire age. Rome was one of the greatest empires of all time, bringing great advances in culture, science, arts, literature, and architecture. The Middle ages also brought these things with great military leaders and leaders in general, but both had a different way of doing so. Medieval church was even different, it was a strictly catholic. Of course this changed with the arrival of new emperors, but it was mainly this religion on the whole time period. They were so stricted on people being catholic, that you would be revoked from the church and sometimes even killed if you did not believe in the religion. Rome, with its lasting empire had many beliefs throughout the years. Two that we are familiar with are christianity and the Roman gods. Roman gods were based primarily of that of the Greek gods and goddess. In order for people to live righteously in this time period they would make peace offerings to the gods, usually sacrificing the things most dear to them. Many of the priest would take time off, so they would spend the time off sacrificing and receiving the things that the gods would send them. Rome had many architectural buildings that we know of today. Many Roman building ways were copied right from how the greek people use to do theirs. Though they copied Greek style, they came up with their own style. They used many arches, some arches were used to show the wealth of a person, the fancier, the wealthier. Roman people made aqueducts. Aqueducts were able to bring the city of Rome, running water. One of the most famous aqueducts would be the Pont Du Gard, it ran for thirty miles and supplies twenty thousand gallons of water to th... ... middle of paper ... ...rs of Rome ruled the land. If you became an emperor, you would be at the top of the social ladder. He was in charge of the land, people, and army. They were very much worshiped and looked up too. Though Rome did have many bad rulers, they would kill them or make it to where they would not rule anymore. They would have many portraits and stone heads made for them. People would send a lot of money to them to show the gratitude of themselves. In conclusion, you can see that both of these ages were very different. From the churches, to the military, to the gods, and the people. These empires were very strong, and would fight to the end of them. The medieval age was based on the high of the Roman age and Rome that of the Greek age. Both of these empires was a big impact of that of the modern today. No matter how far you go back, something will always be based on another.
