I am choosing the film Mean girls to better illustrate the topic ethics than the film The Good Girl. The movie Mean Girls is about four high school girls that are called the plastics. The two main “plastics” being Regina George. Regina Georges unfortunate happening in the story demonstrates the ethics throughout the movie. I am going to argue that the ethics portrayed in the film means girls is more obvious to the human eye than in the movie The Good girl with the Ethics being portrayed in the film mean girls involve discipline and consequences for ones actions and the way to a good life. In the movie Mean Girls the “plastics” are perceived as rude, girls who cheat on their boy friends, and fake. The word fake is expressed by the lack of realness in the plastics, they might say one thing to a persons face but behind their back it’s a different story. During the story line of the film punishment is presented as Regina George loses her idolization following being hit by a bus. This punishment portrays ethics in the sense of Regina was unkind to her surrounding, cheats on her boyfriend, lies to her peers, disrespectful to her mother. As the story goes on Regina starts to lose friends as they begin to realize the kind of person she really is. This is presented as a source of punishment as well as toward the end of the film Regina gets hit by a bus to conclude her punishment of their wrong doing that portrays ethics. The ethics demonstrated in Mean Girls were very obvious to the human eye watching the movie because Regina was a bad person; she received punishment in more ways than one then, changed herself for the good. The ethics in The Good Girl that Justine demonstrated were difficult to realize unless being identified by Dr. Walsh. The reason for this is because Justine did not show dramatic change, Justine made mistakes she received a punishment, which was the baby, but the ending of the movie did not show any change in lifestyle as for the good, like she learned her lesson.
