Mean Girls Ethics Essay

I am choosing the film Mean girls to better illustrate the topic ethics than the film The Good Girl. The movie Mean Girls is about four high school girls that are called the plastics. The two main “plastics” being Regina George. Regina Georges unfortunate happening in the story demonstrates the ethics throughout the movie. I am going to argue that the ethics portrayed in the film means girls is more obvious to the human eye than in the movie The Good girl with the Ethics being portrayed in the film mean girls involve discipline and consequences for ones actions and the way to a good life. Through every religion ethics is a key to the foundation of the religion morals, which is portrayed in an understanding fulfilling way in the movie, Mean

Girls.
Ethics is about obeying conduct, if not the person doing the sin or karma depending on the religion as expressed in the notes is punished for their wrongdoing.

In the movie Mean Girls the “plastics” are perceived as rude, girls who cheat on their boy friends, and fake. The word fake is expressed by the lack of realness in the plastics, they might say one thing to a persons face but behind their back it’s a different story. During the story line of the film punishment is presented as Regina George loses her idolization following being hit by a bus. This punishment portrays ethics in the sense of Regina was unkind to her surrounding, cheats on her boyfriend, lies to her peers, disrespectful to her mother. As the story goes on Regina starts to lose friends as they begin to realize the kind of person she really is. This is presented as a source of punishment as well as toward the end of the film Regina gets hit by a bus to conclude her punishment of their wrong doing that portrays ethics. The movie the good girl does portray ethics with the pregnancy and cheating on her husband but the impact the punishment made to Regina in mean girls has a much greater

effect.
The topic ethics presented is involving punishment but ethics is more than morals and conduct it also is the way to good life. The film Mean girls presented morals and punishment but also showed a way to good life at the end of the film also portraying ethics. Once a bus hits Regina her idolization begins to come back as she is showered with flowers. Regina has known to have a lot of anger that why she was so unkind all of the time. After her accident she began getting her life together by separating the group of the plastics and joining the lacrosse team to challenge her anger in a more positive way on the field. In the end Regina ended on a positive life road with Regina on the way to a good life as ethics presents in the notes. In comparison, the film the good girl ends with her husband forgiving her and taking care of the baby, as it was his. This ending ends in a positive way to good life as does Mean Girls but the movie The Good Girl does not express the positive changes Justine makes to better herself as a way to good life as Regina did, making Mean Girls better portray ethics.
While watching The Good Girl the ethics portrayed shown above were not as easy to identify as the ethics in Mean Girls.

The ethics demonstrated in Mean Girls were very obvious to the human eye watching the movie because Regina was a bad person; she received punishment in more ways than one then, changed herself for the good. The ethics in The Good Girl that Justine demonstrated were difficult to realize unless being identified by Dr. Walsh. The reason for this is because Justine did not show dramatic change, Justine made mistakes she received a punishment, which was the baby, but the ending of the movie did not show any change in lifestyle as for the good, like she learned her lesson. The ethics in the movie Mean Girls is easier to picture, where as the movie The Good

Girl.
Ethics is a way of life pertaining to morals and behavior within a community, religion etc. The film Mean Girls demonstrates a fatal punishment Regina received as a result of the behavior she expressed throughout the film but turning her actions into positive as she changes her lifestyle of starting rumors, being unkind, etc. this process that Regina made throughout the movie expresses the topic ethics. It seems that the ethics presented in the film Mean Girls are clearer to recognize than in the movie The Good Girl for the reason of mean girls has more dramatic scenes in the story line so it makes it easier to identify which is good aspect when showing a film to the class to portray a topic. The topic ethics is portrayed in an easier more understanding way than The Good Girl did. Ultimately ethics is the way person lives, the way a person reacts to the consequence begin expressed if the person uses the consequence constructively or not. As Regina does in Mean Girls to change her life.
