Block conveys the messages of how the Mccarthy trials were in “We Now Have New and Important Evidence”, and “It’s okay--We're Hunting Communists” through his symbolic detailing. The audience of “We Now Have New and Important Evidence”, seems either to be listening to the man or quietly disregarding everything that he is saying. Block employs the meaning of how most people thought highly of McCarthyism while others denoted it sometimes leading them into trouble, when their refuse to believe in Communist spies penetrating America. “It’s okay-- We're hunting Communists”, there are two men driving a car labeled “committee on un-american activities” through a street crowded with people even running over some of the citizen’s legs. Block conveys the messages of how just because one is educated, does not mean we can take their word if they have no credibility to back it up. For example, a man in a suit and tie is standing at his desk holding a doctored photo and faked letter that are on fire, in “I have here in my hands”, Block uses the word “doctored” to represent the people with higher education receiving trust from the citizens. In the Crucible, Miller uses the witch doctor Hale to verify that witches are real and sign off, even though Hale realizes this later on when it’s too late. The burning of the paper contributes to the fact that evidence cannot be taken back after being used and will continue trialing against someone. Giles Corey unknowingly sold out his wife in the play by asking questions out of pure curiosity that was used against her in court instead, Giles was never able to take back his innocent question or her arrest. In “We now have important evidence”, the handiman(a guy with a saw) and a businessman(a guy with a suit and fedora) carry a sign that they built themselves into a court building, the sign includes the words “JOE ZILCH IS A RED” written in graffiti. With the “s” in “is” backwards and the Joe Zilch(or zero) representing average Joe's, a couple of words on a sign equals the death of innocent citizens.
