At the age of sixteen, I have lived through four of the largest mass shootings in the United States. Virginia Tech, Sandy Hook, Pulse Nightclub, and now Las Vegas. Even if I was a hundred years old, I would still be puzzled as to why numerous innocent lives are being purposefully taken away each day. This horrendous events sparked my questions about violence. Before the events of October 1st, 2017, I of course had questions about how the world works, but they all felt superficial. None of my questions seemed that important to me or like they critically needed an answer. As a result of hearing about this shooting, I was overwhelmed with confusion. All I saw were problems that I didn't have an answer to. These were all centered around one thing; Why is there so much violence in the world today? …show more content…

This quote is still relevant to things that are happening in present day times. Although there has never been, or may never be another mass shooting that kills fifty-eight people, we often see similar circumstances occur. This is an example of a situation that I never want to see "rhyme" with another, in my lifetime or in anyone's in the future. As a human race, I feel like we need to take instances like this and learn from them, so that were are able to prevent, or at least make it less like that someone's life is taken in a selfish act of
