Can mythology be related to most modern family dynamics? The best way to compare it would be to look at everyday families. Of course Karl Marx came up with the conditions that certain family dynamics will form. Creating a theory about the psychological aspects of the family dynamic apply named the Marxist Family Dynamic. A Marxist psychological family dynamic is not a valid theory of a family dynamic. The Marxist Family Dynamic is based on the influence that a capitalist has on a family dynamic. But this theory is flawed containing many gaps and cracks that can be pointed out. While families aren’t perfect they don’t usually view their children as tools. Marx might have seen this dynamic within very damaged parents who were treated in the same way. Parents will always wish to have their children live better lives and surpass them. This is commonly found in many ancient Greek myths showing the worst sides of families during that time period. One possible example could be Achilles since he wasn't a tool that was just used by his mother. But she did want him to be a God so she deemed in the river Styx making him immortal. It was more of a selfish self-satisfactory action that she took. Oenopion would be another possible example against the Marxist perspective. Since Orion wanted to date his daughter he kept trying to find ways to make him go away. Making him do stupid meaningless tasks for months. It's really hard to say if he didn't like the thought of Orion dating his daughter or if it was for his own selfish reason. But he doesn't use his daughter as a tool to better himself or his name as a parent like the Marxist theory states he should. This contradicts with a Marxist point of view which believes that children are just a tool used by their parents. Of course this is counter arguments that can be presented from the Marxist point of
