Thank you Vivian. “I will never quit. My nation expects me to be physically harder and mentally stronger than my enemies. If knocked down i will get back up, every time. I will draw on every remaining ounce of strength to protect my teammates and to accomplish our mission. I am never out of the fight.”-Marcus Luttrell. This is one of my favorite quotes about the Marcus Luttrell. Marcus Luttrell is a ex navy-seal. He is a glorified fighter that has participated in many operations and battles. But, his most famous operation was Operation Redwings. Marcus has always been a fighter. He started training for the navy seals when he was 14 with ex-army veteran Billy Shelton, survived Operation Redwings, and fought to stay alive despite his injuries he sustained in this operation. Marcus Luttrell was born on November 7, 1975. Marcus was just like any other boy. He played little league baseball and participated in martial arts, which would later help him out in the Navy Seals. In Marcus’ family, all the men have been in the army, from great-grandparents to great-great grandparents and so on. So one day, Marcus was talking with his twin brother Morgan, who is a current Navy Seal, and they decided to go into the navy seals. Marcus knew that this was not going to be easy, but he never backs down from anything. When Marcus was 14, he really got interested in the navy seals. He started training with ex-army soldier Billy Shelton. He made this training brutal. In this training Marcus and a couple of other teenage boys who wanted to be a Navy Seal would have to carry cinder blocks while they ran a half marathon. Then once they finished running the half marathon, they would have to do hundreds of pushups and situps. Once they got stronger after... ... middle of paper ... ...ce again they were pinned down from three sides and the only way to not be shot was to jump down the mountain side again, which they did. However, once Luttrell stopped falling down the mountain he realized that he had lost sight of Axelson. Sadly, Axelson was found by the Taliban and shot and killed, leaving Luttrell all alone. After just two hours of fighting Luttrell was the only American left in the fight. At this time in the battle it was almost night time, so Luttrell tucked himself under a rock to hide from the Taliban for the night. When he woke up, he started to walk down the hill and found a stream of water. This was a huge relief for Luttrell for not having water a good amount of water for the past day. When he reached the stream he jumped right in. However, when he got out he was standing face to face with a man. This man’s name was Mohammad Gulab.
