“Hey, girl,” Malani shouts as she walks toward her best friend, April, who is at her locker. Malani has always had long black curly hair that came past her shoulders. Her skin was as clear as the sky. Malani also thought that she was better than everybody because she had rich parents. However, April was the opposite of her best friend, Malani. With her short brown hair, she was the most generous out of her and Malani. “What’s up, Malani? What are you mad about today?” “Brandon still did not ask me to the prom and it is in two days,” Malani said with her head looking like it is going to explode. “Maybe he wants to surprise you with a huge proposal,” April replies, trying to make her best friend feel better. This girl is Tamara. Tamara is someone who is obviously jealous of Malani. She never got anything she wanted because everything she wanted was what Malani had she even wanted Malani’s boyfriend, Brandon. Tamara’s jealousy of Malani is raging like a storm. “Oh, hello there, Malani,” Tamara says while she is twisting her soft blond hair around her finger. “You look worse than me, as always,” Tamara implied with a smirk. “Nice to see you, too,” Malani responded with a sarcastic laugh. After Tamara leaves, Malani and April give each other a look. Everyone starts hitting the shiny dance floor, which lights up because of the disco ball. “I am going to go get us some punch,” Brandon tries to shout to Malani over the booming music. “Okay, but you are missing the fun,” Malani screamed while dancing like a free spirit to the music. Jacob just nods and drives off. Malani decides to call her parents, but before she could get her phone out she is knocked out by the force of a baseball bat. “Um…where am I?” Two shadowy, dark figures are standing in front of Malani with masks and a baseball bat that struck her in the head like lightning. Malani could see clearly that she was tied up to a chair with bombs wrapped around her body with a ticking timer. The timer had only twenty minutes left. “ What the…,” Malani screamed with her face full of shock. She did not know what to do. “ Let me out,” she shouted, “ do you want my money or what,” Malani exclaims in fear. The two kidnappers stay there and do not say anything, they stay as quiet as mice. They both exit the room. Malani notices that her bag is right beside her. She tries to tilt her chair to reach her phone. She reaches a little farther and gets it. She does not want her parents to know about this incident. Malani breaks the tape around her hand to use her phone. She scrolls through her contacts and sees “Brandon”. She is filled with fury. As she scrolls down, she sees “Jacob.” She sends Jacob a picture of where she is and texts him, saying “please help.” When Jacob receives the message, he notices what building it is. Ten minutes later, Jacob creeps through the window, trying to save Malani. “Please hurry, the timer is ticking,” Malani whispered, looking at the bomb timer. Jacob
