There’s is a sheet of white fabric, obstructing the intimate embrace between the man and woman, there is no way one could identify who they are as they are completely covered by the opaque white veil. The white cloth is painted in a manner whereby it was tightly covering their heads making them as though they are stifled. They are located at a back wall of corner of room, which is dimly lit there is only limited source of light illuminating at the bottom, the sidewall and ceiling are shown in the painting, as well. The back wall is painted in a dark bluish-grey that gradient to a shade lighter. The side of the wall is colored in brick red with a shadow of a very faint silhouette of the man that was portrayed in the painting. The ceiling is white in color, which has a decorative trim molding that runs along the boarder of red wall but does not continue on the bluish-grey wall. The male figure is wearing a black suit and tie with a formal white shirt while the woman is dressed in red, sleeveless dress with a white trimming exposing her almond color skin …show more content…

Vincent Van Gogh is one of the world’s greatest and most well-known artists, but when he was alive he considered himself to be a complete failure. It was not until after he died that Van Gogh’s paintings received the recognition they deserved. Today he is thought to be the second best Dutch artist, after Rembrandt. Born in 1853, he was one of the biggest artistic influences of the 19th century. Vincent Van Gogh created a new era of art, he learned to use art to escape his mental illness, and he still continues to inspire artists over 100 years later.
The painting is organized simply. The background of the painting is painted in an Impressionist style. The blurring of edges, however, starkly contrasts with the sharp and hard contours of the figure in the foreground. The female figure is very sharp and clear compared to the background. The background paint is thick compared to the thin lines used to paint the figures in the foreground. The thick paint adds to the reduction of detail for the background. The colors used to paint the foreground figures are vibrant, as opposed to the whitened colors of the Impressionist background. The painting is mostly comprised of cool colors but there is a range of dark and light colors. The light colors are predominantly in the background and the darker colors are in the foreground. The vivid color of the robe contrasts with the muted colors of the background, resulting in an emphasis of the robe color. This emphasis leads the viewer's gaze to the focal part of the painting: the figures in the foreground. The female and baby in the foreground take up most of the canvas. The background was not painted as the artist saw it, but rather the impression t...
When we think about the force that holds the world together and what makes humans different from animals, one answer comes to our minds - that humans can love. Love is a state of mind that cannot be defined easily but can be experienced by everyone. Love is very complicated. In fact it is so complicated that a person in love may be misunderstood to be acting in an extremely foolish manner by other people. The complexity of love is displayed in Rostand’s masterpiece drama Cyrano de Bergerac. This is accomplished by two characters that love the same woman and in the course neither one achieves love in utter perfection.
The Lais of Marie de France is a compilation of short stories that delineate situations where love is just. Love is presented as a complex emotion and is portrayed as positive, while at other times, it is portrayed as negative. The author varies on whether or not love is favorable as is expressed by the outcomes of the characters in the story, such as lovers dying or being banished from the city. To demonstrate, the author weaves stories that exhibit binaries of love. Two distinct types of love are described: selfish and selfless. Love is selfish when a person leaves their current partner for another due to covetous reasons. Contrarily, selfless love occurs when a lover leaves to be in a superior relationship. The stark contrast between the types of love can be analyzed to derive a universal truth about love.

The information was extremely detailed and was used in writing both the biography and analyses.
Titian’s style of art, and his masterful techniques with religious art, mythical compositions, and successive glazes have never been surpassed. They influence generations of artists to come, and will continue to do so as long as his work is studied. His place in the Italian High Renaissance will never be overlooked.
Ismene remains firm and asks to be given the same punishment as her sister (212). Ismene’s love for her sister causes her to change her true ambitions and request a death penalty. Although this request is not fulfilled, Ismene demonstrates exactly how dangerous love can be if it is left uncontrolled.

René Magritte was a surrealist artist that created many beautiful works of art. He was well known for a number of captivating paintings. Magritte depicted mundane objects in unorthodox situations, and his work is well known for its unconventional perceptions of reality. Magritte is famous for a lot of unsettling works such as The Son of Man, Le Blanc Seing and the infamous pipe that is not a pipe in The Treachery of Images. Also, in the 1950s, Magritte created a series of works he titled The Empire of Lights also known as L’Empire des lumières or, The Dominion of Light in which Magritte uses the conflicting settings of day and night to create a wonderfully but unsettling feeling of confusion when first glancing upon the painting. He creates

Love has been expressed since the beginning of time; since Adam and Eve. Each culture expresses its love in its own special way. Though out history, though, it’s aspect has always been the same. Love has been a major characteristic of literature also. One of the most famous works in literary history is, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. This story deals with the love of a man and a woman who’s families have been sworn enemies. There love surpassed the hatred in which the families endured for generations. In the end they both ended up killing their selves, for one could not live without the other. This story is a perfect example of true love.

Throughout the research of this essay I have learnt many things that I did not know about the great Leonardo Da Vinci. His work is still very important to the world today not just for teaching and showing the public but for the facts and the amazing tales throughout the time of his life and what this great painter and person achieved with his passion throughout his life. Leonardo Da Vinci will live on through his paint work for years to come. After all he has the most well-known painting still on display in Paris and his work is still being studied today by college and graduate students all over the world.
