Madeleine Albright wanted an end to the Arab-Israeli conflict. She contributed greatly to the “Madeleine’s War” and making negotiations between Israel and various Arab nations during her time as Secretary of State. She was considered as a peace-maker at the time. Madeleine was born on May 15, 1937 in Prague, Czechoslovakia. In 1993, she became the ambassador to the United nations. Shortly after, she was nominated to become the first woman of the United States Secretary of State in 1997. She was nominated by President Bill Clinton on December 5, 1996. In 1997, Albright was a major player in a peace mission to the Middle East. She did not like the fact that many innocent lives were killed, harmed, or stuck in concentration camps. Madeleine tried settling an Arab-Israeli peacemaking. Many responded to this by declaring war on peace and not understanding that forging peace and fighting terrorism are not similar. Madeleine also made it clear that Arab and Israeli had connections, for example, all the business that had once worked together to lay groundwork for trade. Without the peace, the societies will remain shackled by the negative events that happened in the past, the region will fall further behind in the global marketplace, and their children will grow up in an environment of uncertain feelings, danger, and fear. Madeleine stated that whatever she was negotiating are like suggestions because the Unites States is not a party to the Arab-Israeli conflict. Madeleine can create the political will required for Arabs and Israelis to make the tough decisions for peace. In the end, those decisions were not hers to
One famous quote from Barbara Jordan is “If you’re going to play a game properly, you’d better know every rule .” Barbara Jordan was an amazing woman. She was the first African American Texas state senator. Jordan was also a debater, a public speaker, a lawyer, and a politician. Barbara Jordan was a woman who always wanted things to be better for African Americans and for all United States citizens. “When Barbara Jordan speaks,” said Congressman William L.Clay, “people hear a voice so powerful so, awesome...that it cannot be ignored and will not be silenced.”
The oldest currently serving US Senator, Dianne Feinstein, has done her share of leading our Senators and fighting to keep our country safe and free of crime. Feinstein is a member of the Democratic Party, as well as the former thirty-eighth mayor of San Francisco. Eight years after being elected into the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 1970, Feinstein served as the board’s first female president. The assassinations of Mayor George Moscone and City Supervisor Harvey Milk caused Feinstein to succeed as mayor of San Francisco in 1978. While Feinstein served as San Francisco’s first female mayor she renovated the cable car system and oversaw the 1984 Democratic National Convention.
Conflicts between people often have multiple causes and effects. A majority of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is an argument that dates back to Biblical times. The Jewish argue Palestine was the historical site of all Jewish kingdoms, which was promised to Abraham and his descendants. The Arabs argue that Ishmael, forefather of Arabs, is the son of Abraham so God’s promise that the land should go to Abraham’s descendents includes Arabs as well . Some of the main causes which worsen the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are the disparity between Sykes-Picot agreement and Balfour Declaration, The United Nation Partition plan of 1947, which was the separation of the boundaries, and Hitler’s Final Solution. While these causes affected both sides

As reported by (Bilhartz,2013), “Susan Brownell Anthony was the second child of Daniel and Lucy Read Anthony.” She had seven siblings in her family. Susan received an incredible education and later furthered her education when her father hired a private tutor. This was all possible because of her father’s job as an owner of a cotton mill (Bilhartz, 2013). When Susan was just seventeen years old, her family moved to Battenville, New York. While living in Battenville, they endured the harsh Panic of 1837 (McGill, 2017). The Panic was the first financial downfall in the United States. It was so atrocious because the U.S. was still a

...durable peace in the region was emphasized.” Though this decision put an end to Israeli imperialism over Palestinian people, the need for sustained peace by withdrawing support from Israel was of indirect influence by OPEC’s imperialistic decision to increase oil prices in 1973 following the fourth Arab - Israeli war.
The Oslo Peace Accords were an agreement signed by the leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Yasser Arafat and the Government of Israel under the leadership of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. The agreements goal was to create a path towards peace and stability in the between the Palestinians and the Israel’s living in the area surrounding Israel. Despite the agreement’s noble goal the vision fell short and ended with Palestine*(getting shafted?.) This was caused by of Arafat’s weakened political position that allowed Rabin to get a strong political deal that allowed Israel to benefit from the Oslo Peace Accords and their implantation, this imbalance was then heightened with the election of Netanyahu as the President of Israel.
Anwar Sadat’s ‘Statement to the Knesset’ was written and presented with the hope of establishing peace between the
By 1978 the thirty-year war that had been fought between Egypt and Israel had come to a point where there was a chance for peace. The area that had been at the center of the turmoil was the West Bank of the Jordan River and the Gaza Strip. The problem was that both countries believed that they had the rights to this land: Israel, biblically and Egypt, politically. So an invitation by President Jimmy Carter to President Anwar Sadat of Egypt and Prime Minister Menachem Begin of Israel was extended. The invitation was for a meeting in the Catoctin Mountains of Maryland at the presidential retreat, Camp David. The meeting was so that the framework of a peace agreement, known as the Camp David Accord, could be laid out between Sadat and Begin, with Carter as the mediator. Both Sadat and Begin had their reputations and their countries’ futures on the line, not to mention the future of the Middle East. All of the countries neighboring Egypt and Israel would be affected by an Egyptian/Israeli agreement of any kind and maybe encouraged to come to an agreement of some sort for that region.
“Palestinians do not control their own fate but instead live under the power of other states” (82, Yambert). The one state that directly controls the fate of Palestinians in the occupied territories is Israel and for the Palestinians who do not reside in Israel, other governments control them. The history of Palestine and how Israel came into existence is essential to understand in order to break down the present day conflict. The most dominant and important player in the Palestinian – Israeli conflict has been the United States of America, which has completely shaped the predicament in order to fulfill its interests. Before delving into the role of the United States, it is essential to go back in time and familiarize with the history of Palestine and Israel.
The issue of Palestine and Israel is one that has been hotly contested for over a thousand years. The last fifty years have been especially important in the history of the Jewish people and Palestinians. Since the death of Yasser Arafat on the 11th of November 2004 , and the election of Mahmoud Abbas as his successor as leader of the Palestinian Authority, significant steps have been taken towards a lasting peace. This will hopefully lead to a conclusion of the second Palestinian intifada, which began in late September 2000, and to an end of the oppression of the Palestinian people by the Israeli Defense Forces. Both Jews and Arabs have suffered heavily from the conflict, thousands of innocent civilians have died on both sides, and peace is in the interests of all.
...secure Israel. Something needs to be done about the root of the cause and it can be argued that Israel would be more secure once Palestine is formed.
