Macklemore’s song, Same Love, is about the gay and lesbian issues that happen pervasively. The song delivers a message about how all love should be equal and the acceptance of it. In the music video of the song, it mainly focuses on a gay man struggling throughout his life trying to get respect and be accepted. It also shows a few other homosexual couples that want their love to be accepted by people as well. In the article “Same Love By Macklemore and Ryan Lewis,” Vale states “the song talks about love, homosexuality and acceptance, and was recorded during the Washington Referendum 74 campaign, which upon approval came to legalize same-sex marriage in the state of Washington” (para 1). This song was a welcoming anthem in honor of the legalization of same-sex marriage in Washington. Based on gay and lesbian rights which are the historic and cultural context, same love shares the same presuppositions with its audience; therefore, same love has given a clear condition of Kairos.
