The story of Macbeth shows a noble Eminence man slowly turning into a villain whose life later makes a classic Shakespearean tragic hero story. Macbeth is a tragic hero as he had a tragic flaw that overcame his instincts and his downfall is without a doubt was his fault.
We all know a tragic hero is a human with noble birth which Macbeth definitely has. Yet a tragic hero can also be a person who acquires heroic qualities in this case Macbeth is well known for being a person who is very good in combat later making him thane of Cawdor. We know this is true since Duncan himself said “O valiant cousin! Worthy gentleman!” (1.1.26) and he also said “What he hath lost, noble Macbeth hath won” (1.2.68) while the captain was describing what happened at the battlefield and how Macbeth saved the day and killed the enemy. We can say that up to now Macbeth has a very good reputation in the kingdom and is very well spoken of by others making him both a noble man and a hero which are both part of Aristotle requirements for a tragic hero.

At this point Macbeth has killed many people and is in a serious plight. His ambition for power turned him to different person. At one point Macbeth felt undefeatable since the witches told him “Be bloody, bold, and resolute. Laugh to scorn The power of man, for none of woman born Shall harm Macbeth” (4.1.81-83) Yet before they did tell him to beware of Macduff. Macbeth doesn’t see this as a threat since he assumes Macduff was born naturally from a woman. Macbeth misinterpreted the words of the witches when it turns out Macduff mother had a C section. Moments before his death by the mirthful Macduff he was given an opportunity to kneel down and ask Malcom for forgiveness. Macbeth denies and prefers to die with dignity just like he would back then this proves he still has some of his qualities. His last words were “I will not yield, to kiss the
