Out of all of the species of penguins in the world, Macaroni Penguins are the ones who are the most unique. Macaroni Penguins are the largest of Eudyptes Penguins existing. This species of penguins stands out with their orange plumes that begin at the center patch of the forehead, extend along the crown, then drop down behind the red eyes these penguins hold. They are slightly bigger than the average size penguin, but still are very skilled swimmers. With this skill, these penguins mainly catch their food, which is crustaceans, squid, and also fish. The piping plover usually nests on the sandy beach, some distance away from the water and is often located near a large rock or clump of grass. There are usually 4 eggs in the nest. The eggs begin to hatch for 25 to 30 days.
The Atlantic Puffin mates and raises its young in a burrow, usually in the soil between the rocks on steep, ocean-facing cliffs. By nesting in remote locations, the puffin avoids predator detection. These burrows are usually about three feet in length and are curved. In the back of the burrow, the parents make a nest of grasses, leaves and feathers for their young. Occasionally, the nest is left unlined. Often, puffins with designate a specific location for a bathroom. This is usually placed at the bend of the curved burrow. In an effort to keep their young unsoiled, the parents regularly clean the nest.
Wild Swans Is a novel expressing the history and tradition of the Chinese culture through the eyes of one, Jung Chang. Jung Chang tells the story of a struggling China dealing with communism through three generations of women: her grandmother, her mother, and herself . Through her grandmother the traditional China is brought forth, and the reader is made aware of what it was like living in an older China. Her mother’s life introduces us to communism and how it began and spread throughout China. Jung Chang’s life displays what it was like living in a more recent China. Her family goes through many hardships as a result of communism, the Great Leap Forward, and The Cultural Revolution. The first major change in China was the establishment of communism.
Cormoran Blue Strike was born on November 23, 1975. His father is famous rockstar Jonny Rokeby and his mother, Leda Strike, a groupie. Thanks to evolution, Penguins have evolved into a group of aquatic, fightless birds, that are highly adapted to life in the ocean. This not only makes them one of the divergent and strange species of birds, but also has allowed them to become such a sucessful species. Penguins are mostly located in the Southern hemisphere ranging anywhere from the Galapogos to the Antartic. Throughout their lives, Penguins spend around half their time in the ocean doing things such as catching food and the other half on land raising their young. When the colony becomes well established, the queen begins to lay some eggs that develop into queens and males. It takes a few years before a colony becomes large enough to send out winged males and young queens to start new colonies. The cycle will now begin all over again. Nests come in all shapes and sizes.
