Do many people really understand the value of living off the grid? Living off the grid allows people to live freely, without electronics, and to unplug and get back to nature. It may be shown to be cheaper with the use of fossil fuels, solar panels and other gadgets that require natural resources (such as the sun). Being on the grid comes with many disadvantages, like pollution, fracking, and even global warming. It states, “Our total daily energy consumption is 5,025 watt-hours, or about 5 kilowatt-hours.” Wow. Just take a second and realize how much energy we truly consume per day. With the use of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas it allows for non-renewable energy to be burned to produce energy. Living off the grid, allows people to live cheaper and to live more comfortably without having to experience the problems we face on a day-to-day basis. Disconnecting and unplugging also brings comfort and convenience to an individual. Many people value that.
