Little Princes is a novel that is written by Conor Grennan. The novel is a true story that is based on Conor’s volunteer experience in a third world country called Nepal. In the beginning Conor was just looking for adventure, so that’s why he decided to go on a yearlong adventure around the globe. He had desperately wished for a change, and he had money saved up so he decided that he would travel the world to “help” people. He didn’t really have any limitations because he was single. Conor first decided to go on this trip for his own selfish reasons. He immediately tells his friends because he wants them to praise him for going out and helping other people. However, he was disappointed with their reactions of disapproval. In the beginning Conor says that he would tell the women in bars about volunteering in an orphanage. He would try to impress the ladies by saying stuff like “I don’t care if it’s dangerous, it all about the kids.” The fact that Conor even chose to volunteer in Nepal was also very egotistical. He said that he chose Nepal because he learned that Everest was in Nepal, and he decided that “it was the perfect country to volunteer in” he could “combine his volunteer experiences with a trek to Base Camp.” He also said that it would be two weeks before he would volunteer because he would first fulfill his dream of trekking. He claims to think of the children first, but in this situation he thinks of himself.
