As humans, it is completely inevitable that we experience all aspects of the human condition throughout our lifetimes: birth, growth, emotionality, aspiration, conflict, and mortality. In literature, we can see that authors write about these experiences, possibly without even realizing it. Because of this, readers are constantly reading relatable stories and articles that are connected to the human condition. Certain aspects of the human condition such as aspiration, growth, and conflict can all be found in simple types of literature pieces we see everyday: comic strips, articles, and poems.

Aspects of human aspiration can be found in Charles Schultz’s Peanuts, comic strip. In the comic, Charlie Brown tries to kick the ball that Luci holds for him, yet again. But once again, she moves the ball and causes him to fall. Charlie Brown …show more content…

Even though Luci has repetitively tricked Charlie into trying to kick the ball, he continues to try to kick it every time. His statement implies that he has done this before, and this shows aspects of aspiration. Charlie has aspiration to kick the ball even though he knows that Luci may trick him. This shows the human condition because humans have this sense of aspiration, just like Charlie. We continue to try things that we could not do before over and over again, because we develop goals that are important to us. Humans all do this because they go through the human condition, and all experience a sense of aspiration for at least one thing in our lives- even if it’s as small as kicking a football. Also in the comic, Luci makes a comment that directly relates Charlie’s decision to the human condition. Luci states, “ I adore you, Charlie Brown. You have much faith in human nature.” Even Luci knows that humans have an instinctive sense of goals and aspiration. Charles Schulz emphasizes this in his comic, and gives us a simple example of aspiration that any human can relate
