Lion King Observation

Introduction
As a student who is in the process of becoming a teacher, I believe that the observation of children is necessary for any instructor. By observing these youths, teachers can ensure that they are able to include all of the students in the lessons and that they are capable of grasping the context within the subjects of the curriculum.
This semester, I was located at a middle school where I mainly observed and work with the sixth grade social studies class. My cooperating teacher was very authoritative and her instruction with her more advanced students. On my first day, I had been fortunate enough to catch a few students rehearsing their lines for their school production of Disney’s, “The Lion King” Jr. To see such youth with the capability to do their own stage blocking, lighting, and stage preparation was fascinating. All of the teachers I had met at school, whom I had the immense pleasure of working, with all appear to be extremely eager about how their students grades were going to be perceived by their parents as well as state standardized testing. They also wanted to involve their community with their fundraisers as well the students and their families. These days, even in a sixth grade class, students are expected to learn what I never saw until my third high school math class. Though the common core curriculum is helpful in some ways, it remains a hassle to accommodating for all students and learning capabilities. I learned that even if a child were developing at a rate equivalent to that of his peers, my ESL students would still struggle at the basics. I have not observed long enough yet to fully comprehend whether this is a result of not knowing American English and grammar well enough where this is as result of being bilingual than the student share as they go through grade school and even
