Lime Springs Children’s Theatre Troupe The Lime Springs Theatre Troupe did their first performance on December 2, 2006.
The play was “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” directed by Annette Rubin. This play was performed for the Lime Springs Public Library to help fund the building expansion project. In April 15 & 16, 2011 Sally Godwin directed the play “Alice In Wonderland”. That particular play was performed at the Lime Springs Community Center. The play Gooney Bird Greene & Her True Life Adventures was performed at the Chester Community Center in September 2008. Laura Ingalls Wilder: Voice Of The Prairies was performed at Burr Oak. The rest of the plays have been performed at the United Methodist Church in Lime Springs, Iowa.
"Constant Star" by Tazewell Thompson is a play which sticks out in my mind as being one of the best I have ever had the priviledge of watching. The play is centered around the life of Ida B. Wells, a black woman who stands up for equality at all costs. Although the content of the play is moving and very interesting, the lighting, songs, costumes, props, and special effects are what made the play so extraordinary.
The play Steel Magnolias is a heartwarming story about six friends who spend their free time with one another in their local beauty shop. The humorous yet deeply touching story held the attention of audience members young and old. From the set to acting, every aspect of this play created an experience that is truly unforgettable
The play The Miss Firecracker Contest by Beth Henly shown in SIUE’s Dunham Hall Theater and is directed by Peter Cocuzza, was it a hit or a miss? The play Miss Firecracker Contest is an interesting play about a girl who along with her family can never seem to find happiness in their lives. To remedy this the main character Carnelle enters a contest to attempt to become happier in her life. The question is was the production successful and entertaining. The setting of the play, how well the characters were played, and the effects of the play all contribute to the overall success of a play. The question is did this rendition of The Miss Firecracker Contest play satisfy its audience.
The play was written in the 1945 but is set in 1912. The 1910's was a

On Saturday, December 21 at 8:00 p.m., I saw the play Wicked in Chicago at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts with my family. I had always heard how spectacular the play was. My parents even saw it on Broadway in New York years ago and absolutely loved it and wouldn’t stop talking about it. Well let me tell you, describing Wicked as being a spectacular show is dead on, maybe even an understatement. Wicked was by far one of the best plays I’ve ever seen! Between the actors, lighting, scenery, and music, it was an amazing show and grabbed your attention at all times. I would highly recommend seeing this phenomenal production to all ages!
little theater group, the Hull House players” (Laura Jane Addams World of Sociology, 2001). In
African American Theatre interests me, since African American actors, actresses, and playwrights have overcome so many obstacles, and yet some of the best people in film are African American. It interests me that they have endured so much rough history in this country, and yet many people forget about their rough history and admire many talented African American associated with the theatre. I like how the African American theatre deviates from an integrated society, to a simple black society. Many African American based plays and films show a simple African American family and how they live their lives, in the midst of so many obstacles they face. While watching several of the African American films assigned for this
The play begins on Christmas Eve. Nora Torvald enters the living room carrying packages. Torvald Helmer, her husband, enters. He says that she shouldn’t have spent so much on Christmas gifts. He says that they have to be careful with money for now, but that he got a promotion at the bank that will increase their quality of life.
Living in Grover’s Corner can be an eye opener to wanting to modernize and live in the a world where new things happen to help instead of hinder, or it can be a lesson that teaches you how being close and doing things that your family approve can be a good quality in life. The Play “Our Town” lets you see the play in your own point of view. Either you can see living in a small community and not having much privacy as a good quality or you can think that being so close to your neighbors is a bad thing. Either way the play shows us that caring for each other and helping each other out is something you have to work on and become better. The play lets us know as long as we live our life as we want no one can take that from us.
It was on March 31st, I went to see The Forbidden Broadway starting at 8pm at the Seminole Theater, located in Homestead Florida. Forbidden Broadway is a parody of classical movies and Disney cartoons. Therefore, it tells you it is going to be a comedy show. This shows was written in 1982 by Gerard Alessandrini and it is performed every year. This musical comedy is also updated every year. And some of the performers, who are excellent and well know performers were Gina Kreiezmar, Kevin McGlynn, Jeanne Montano and Graid Laurie. The one thing that I did not like with the performance note is because it did not list any of the plays that were going to be played or gives any summary about the plays. And I did not really like that and I was like maybe because it is a popular show, so people might know what it is going to be about. Anyway, it should have a kind of summary to let people know what will be performed.
She walks into a comfortably and tastefully furnished room, as soon as the play begins, with a bunch of parcels and immediately asks for the Christmas Tree to be hidden “carefully”, pops a few macaroons into her mouth and then cautiously goes to her husband’s door and listens, eventually remarking
Theatre-In-Education The theatre education industry/movement has seen some rapid changes since its initial developments and establishment in the 1960’s. However its origins mainly lie in the early years of the last century. It was the initial establishment of companies such as Bertha Waddell’s in Scotland and Esme Church’s in the north of England that thoroughly established the main roots of TIE.
The History of the Darling Theatre Company This theatre company came into being in 1979 when a famous old London theatre went bankrupt and the owners of the building attempted to sell it to property developers. George Darling, a well known stage actor, launched a campaign to save the theatre and, with the help of many famous friends in the acting world, created strong public support for retaining the building as a theatre. However no existing theatre company was in a position to take over the building and the owners suggested to George Darling that he use his connections to set up his own company. After a vigorous fund-raising campaign enough money was collected to save the theatre and set up the Darling Theatre Company. The actors and actresses who had helped in the campaign agreed to appear in Darling productions for a fraction of their normal fees – but were interested only in appearing in theatre classics rather than commercial productions
Odegard, Cooper, Lampinen, Reyna and Brainerd (2009) “examined the influence of prior knowledge on children’s free recall, cued recall, recognition memory, and source memory judgments for a series of similar real-life events.” To do this study, they decided they were going to create four themed birthday parties with four different characters, SpongeBob, Patrick, Harry Potter, and Hermione, four different days over a range of four weeks. The researchers wanted to see if children ages 5-12 could remember the events that happen at the themed parties at different interviews after the parties have happened. This was so the researchers could see what age group of children is able to remember certain things during events. This would help researchers
