Lies Can Get Messy Sandra Bullock is a great versatile actress starring in movies that range from comedy, action, and drama. In The Proposal (2009), Sandra Bullock plays bossy Canadian book editor named Margaret Tate. The first impression that viewers get of Margaret is that she is extremely bossy and controlling, most people in the office are afraid of her. The plot arises when Margaret finds out that she is soon to be deported due to her Visa expiring. She ends up finding a way out of the situation by dragging her assistant Andrew (played by Ryan Reynolds) into the mess. Andrew ends up going along with her crazy idea because he does not want to lose his job. Margaret and Andrew apply for her engagement Visa and realize the difficulties that are to come in order to pull off this stunt. The rest of the movie follows Margaret and Andrew visiting his family in Alaska while trying to keep up their huge lie of a life. …show more content…

Andrew is the assistant of Margaret Tate who is not treated very nicely. Andrew seems that he is around the age of 30, has brown hair, and a medium build. Choosing this actor as the assistant that Margaret is going to marry makes the plot believable. The filmmaker chose someone who would be the perfect age to be married. Ryan Reynolds is extremely effective in delivering the lines written for him. In this movie, Andrew is soft spoken and has a submissive personality. This works for the plot because if Andrew had been a character who wasn’t afraid of Margaret he would have never risked so much to help her.
