Our parents may have raised us but it’s our responsibility to make the right choice. As we come into adulthood, we must learn to take responsibility for our actions and accept the consequences that follow. We must deal with our consequences and avoid putting the blame on others. Antwone Fisher was an individual that endured so many things. He faced a lot of challenges that may have seemed impossible to recover from. This story was an example of the many things that some children may experience. Antwone was not raised in an upper crust home. He did not grow up in a home in which his mother and father was present. Instead of having positive role models, he had to live with individuals that were abusive to him. When observing Antwone’s personality, one may refer to two different theorists such as Bandura and Rogers.
Teaching ELL students can be a challenging role, but it is an important one. I realize how dedicated these teachers are to their students. I also realize how important the proper training is to the teacher and think I will be better prepared because of the classes I am taking. Even though teaching ELL can tough, it is a very rewarding experience. I look forward to helping the ELL students in my own classroom and can use the information from this survey to continue to support their growth.

When stories are shared by word of mouth the human mind has the ability to exaggerate the truth and the lines between fact and fiction can become blurred. Most of this exaggeration comes from the human nature to try and manipulate the truth to benefit oneself. I will first give a short synopsis of the story, then I will explain why this story was of great enough significance to document and finally I will explain what a person of the time would most likely take from this tale.

Even though some teachers use this new approach successfully in their class, my concern is that not all of the teachers can or even know how to change from the "mentor in the center" to "guide on the side." Has the school systems come up with way to change the mindsets of these teachers and show them how to make their classrooms active learning environments? No, they are just content to throw the phrase around without determining how to bring about student-centered learning in the classrooms. So what is Student centered learning? Is it the cure all for the ailing public education system? What tools need to be in place in order to facilitate a student-centered learning environment? What kind of in-service or extra training will be necessary in order to foster the student-centered classroom? In this paper, I will define student-centered learning, explain the key attributes to this type of learning process, and identify the tools that will facilitate its growth.
Student-centered learning or active learning is a method of instruction in which the student is in the center of focus and the teacher has the least impression in (grammar) language instruction. On the other hand, Teacher-centered learning or passive learning, occurs in a setting that the teacher plays the main role (Bower & Flinders, 1990). In my classroom, I have observed that students tend to learn when they experience learning by doing and not just listening to the teacher. I have also witnessed that students with learning disabilities learn using this approach because they get bored listening to the teacher for thirty minutes of lecture. According to Bower and Flinders (1990), students maximizes their learning when they learn by doing and experiencing rather than by observing the teacher. As an educator, I believe that students have better performance when they are asked to think about they are interested to learn instead of doing the thinking for them. According to Lynch (2010), some essential principles of student-centered learning are taking responsibility for learners’ learning, directly involving them in the learning process and raising social activities like collaboration, meaningful communication, choice and cooperation. Even though teacher-centered learning is used more frequently by many teachers, I have experienced in all my years of teaching that students with learning disabilities benefit more from student-centered learning than teacher-centered learning. In reality, there is always those students that benefit more from teacher-centered learning because these students already know how to organize their work and have good social skills that make it easier for them to succeed in any classroom setting. English language has been rated as one of the most important international languages nowadays. It has been found at primary levels around the world. Teaching English as a foreign language is not an easy task and need a lot of hard work, especially for young learners. However, starting earlier is not the solution for producing better English speakers. EFL teachers of young learners have to follow some strategies and techniques to understand and teach young learners better. YL Students who aged 5-12 can not spend two or three hours sitting on chairs and listening to teachers lectures as adults do. They lose interest more quickly and less able to keep motivated on tasks for long time because these students have short attention spans and are easily distracted. YL Students will be usually learning very basic material but a skillful teacher has to design creative lessons that get students attention and participation during the class, such as moving around and speaking with one another. Interacting with each other improves their communication skills and even building confidence in using the language. In addition, young learners are generally very enthusiastic at this level about songs and games. In order to encourage everyone to participate, it is important to include your sessions with different types of songs and active games to make the lessons relaxed and fun. The teacher should be able to create different activities to encourage and activate students that everyone can enjoy learning in.
