Legalization of Homosexual Marriage

Most people believe that they deserve the rights they are granted by the government. An upstanding citizen who pays their taxes, serves their community and abides by the law should be afforded the rights of an American. However, not all citizens are afforded equal rights. Gay and lesbians are constantly denied rights that are typically taken for granted by the average American. Specifically, gay and lesbians couples are denied the right to marry even if they are upstanding citizens. They are held at an unfair disadvantage simply because of their sexual orientation. This discrimination must end because gay and lesbian couples are law-abiding citizens too, who should be offered the same rights as heterosexual couples. Same sex marriage should be legalized because it is their civil rights, it encourages strong family value and leads to the increasing number of child adoption, and the same sex marriage also brings a lot of financial benefits.
Gay marriage is currently legal in a small percentage of counties worldwide. For many, marriage is seen as a unique relation between a man and woman, with the purpose of having and raising a family. In the past, interracial couples faced complications when they attempted to marry. However, nowadays some same sex couples are on the same path to legal and social acceptance of gay marriage, that interracial couples face. However, gay marriages need to be recognized by the government in order for the couples to enjoy all of the rights and responsibilities generally given to marriages of the opposite sex couples. ...ice must be to have action taken. The issue of legal marriage between two people of the same sex must be settled now to stop the discrimination that is openly occurring across America. The same sex marriage should be legalized. It is human civil rights, and encourages family values. Two people of the same sex who love each other should be allowed to publicly celebrate their commitment and receive the same benefits of marriage as opposite sex couples. All couples should be granted the gift of marriage.
