If I were to be forced to leave my home I would bring some very important items with me to help me survive the journey. I would bring a duffel bag and a backpack to hold all my items in. In my backpack and duffel bag I would carry a fishing rod for catching fish and l would bring lures so that I would not have to carry around a bunch of live bait. I would also bring a medical kit so that if I got injured l could bandage and disinfect cuts and scrapes. I would also bring a fillet knife for cleaning my fish and I would bring a couple fire starters to cook the fish so that I wouldn't get parasites from eating raw fish. I would purify my water by either boiling it or I would have iodine pills and water filters. I would have a handgun for …show more content…
So of course I would bring along my cat we’d have to scoop him up. He hates being in carriers and being picked up. So we would probably spend a good chunk of time chasing him around and getting scratched up before we could get going with my other pets, dogs, and my sisters guinea pig and most importantly my family because l love them very much. I would bring along family pictures including all the pictures we have of going to Disneyland ,my millions of trophies from sports and Cub Scouts and pretty much all of the fun events we had so l can look back at all the good times and reminisce and think about all the great times i shared with my family. I would take my dads silver dollar with me that his mom gave to him when he was a little kid. I would also take along my great grandfather's pocket knife he fought off and killed a mountain lion that attacked him with. He gave it to me before he died at ninety two years old. It means a lot to me because it holds a important sentimental value in my family. I saved the most sentimental item for last. My sister who was a twin sister with my other sister died before i was born. She was only eight months when she died of S.I.D.S (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and we got her cremated so i would bring her ashes with
What would you do if you were stranded on an Island all by yourself with a few
Henry Dobbins is the guy who loves to eat so he made sure he took some extra food. Ted Lavender was the scaredy cat of the group so he carried tranquilizers with him. Dave Jense is the paranoid one, so he takes soap and a toothbrush to prevent germs and disease as best he can. Kiowa has a bible with him showing us he is the dedicated religious type. Mitchell Sanders, the funny one, has condoms with him. I'll let you decide on that one. Norman Bowker has a diary and Rat Kiley carried comic books, most likely as a way to "get away" from everything at the end of the day. Regardless of the personal items each one takes, they all share 2 items in common; their boots and their helmets. Almost all of them also have pictures with them but Jimmy Cross takes 2 very special ones. He has 2 pictures of the woman he loves, Martha. What these guys are truly carrying is some extreme emotional and physical troubles. Amongst his personal items Jimmy Cross also takes with him navigation tools. Rat Kiley has with him the medicine, surgical tape, painkillers, and other things that end up weighing alot. Ted Lavender is very scared, so he also has with him a large supply of ammunition. They all carry with them as much as they can. Weather it be for protection or entertainment, including fear and amazement of the thin...
boats to all the places so they could get more information on how to get home to
I packed a thermos of hot coffee, a chunk of summer sausage, some crackers and a small bottle of hot sauce and water. These items have been a tradition of mine for many years now and are a nice treat during the middle of the day when the squirrels usually take a break and I've been known to doze off leaning against a giant oak high on a ridge top. I really enjoy keeping it simple on these trips, like my grandfather 60 years ago. It is a great way to remember those days when he was around while enjoying the very thing that made us so close.... ... middle of paper ...
Academic achievement, character, social skills, motivation, passion, and curiosity would be the first things I pack with me if I were selected to travel and study abroad.
This summer seemed to fly by as if it had never happened at all. Perhaps it didn’t. June had arrived in a heartbeat, considering I had my graduation to prepare for and has kept be more than occupied. July and August were Hell on Earth, and I can’t seem to change that it was all my fault. Now that September has graced us with its presence, I was finally able to move away from my home in Shenandoah, Louisiana, to move in with my aunt, Lorelei, so far away from home.
If you have a big move lined up in the future and you have the choice of when to do it, you may be considering postponing the move until it gets warm in the summer. However, the winter can actually be a great time to move, even with the cold temperatures and possible snow. Here is why you should move in the winter.
School is a place where you meet friends and learn as much as you can. Some execrate it because it's too long, but it could be worse. I was one of the people that despised it. When I was younger I hated it so much, that I cried every day. So, My dad took me out. Now that I'm older, I've loved it. Seeing my friends and learning interesting facts. I couldn't see the school change it's schedule though. Here are my reasons why.
Unfortunately, returning to work can be difficult, there is plenty of worries and tears You’ll find your views have changed, you find yourself struggling to do it all, cook dinner, clean house and care for your children, all while feeling a little guilty for not being there, it’s mentally and physically exhausting.
After i complete my four years of high school i plan to get a scholarship to a college for basketball because i love to play basketball. Also over summer i'm going to work on my basketball skills to become a better player. During summer i will get a job or two to make and save money for college or things that i need. High school has been fun and a good experience so far it is reading and preparing me for college.
If you’re planning to dive into everything the island has to offer, there are several things you will need to pack. Enjoying a holiday requires preparation, so be sure to take notes! With that said, here are some of what you need to bring with you:
For years I have been looking forward to the opportunity to learn in yeshiva. I believe that by spending my gap year between high school and college learning in Israel, I will be able to grow both as a person and spiritually. Through my four years in high school, I have spent time learning Gemara, and I am interested in expanding my knowledge of the area. Learning in Israel will also give me the unique opportunity to learn in a country where Jews are the majority. In America the idea of walking around any street and seeing a crowd full of yarmulkes is unimaginable. But in Israel not only is it concievable, it is actually the norm. To learn in a country that has such historical and religious significance would be an amazing experience. I would be able to set aside all my distractions that exist at home, and develop a greater appreciation for the Torah.
You might graduate from high school and think you know what you want to major in but you really don't know so that why you take a gap year off. It will be hard going from one place to another without learning how to live alone and provide for yourself. Even if you learn how to do that. Are you able to budget? Take the gap year to give yourself time to learn all these things. Take the gap year and live life to the fullest go on trips and get out of your comfort zone and help develop your inner self. High school graduates should take a year off before going to college because they will have a chance to find their hidden passions, to learn independence and maturity and to live life to the fullest.
When faced with new environmental changes and a lifestyle to adapt to, many college students feel overwhelmed by homesickness. Homesickness is most commonly due to anxiety, depression, and loneliness. A research studied concluded that homesick college students are three times more likely to drop out than non-homesick students. For many first-year college students, being away from home can be like an adventure. It’s exhilarating to be off on your own and completely in charge of your life and social well-being. I know that during my first week in college, I didn’t feel homesick at all because I was so anxious to meet new people, explore campus, and check out my classes. However, as I got more used to
Personally, I would take 86-inch TV and all its odds and ends such as bose speakers, sound system, DVD/CD/VCD/VCR player with the movies, equalizer, antenna, cable television service, and, the most important, surge protector to protect all of the equipment. I like this entertainment system very much, I can sit, relax, and watching movies. In addition, I do not want to be blind to the recent current affairs in today's world. I might as well watch news to be aware of the world's development, domestically and globally. This influences me personally and socially because I can enjoy myself by killing the time and watching great movies. In addition, my mind is also opened to what happened outside the island.
