Do you take pride in your mowing? Can you tell a begonia from a crepe myrtle? You could be ready for a job as a groundskeeper for us. At Greener Future our Groundskeepers work on the lawns and grounds of houses, businesses, and parks to keep them healthy, pleasant, and free from giant, man-eating Venus Flytraps. Groundskeepers work exclusively on existing grounds and use various hand tools and gas-powered tools to mow and maintain grass, rake leaves, trim bushes and trees, plant flowers and shrubbery, remove dead plants, water, and fertilize vegetation and get grounds ready for seasonal changes.

• Maintain the appearance of fountains, planters, or other grounds features by cleaning, replacing or making repairs
• Maintain the appearance and safety of sidewalks, driveways, cart paths, or parking lots by filling in cracks, holes, and making other repairs
• Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact and a friendly verbal greeting using the guests names when possible
• Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
• Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required

The shoreline was subjected to many inspection tours, generally by EPS personnel, often in conjunction with members of other agencies such as fisheries officers, park wardens and Nova Scotia Department of Environment staff also provided valuable assistance. The aquatic staff begins working three weeks prior to the opening to prepare the pool. Due to the pool being abandoned all but three months out of the year, a large amount of dirt is accumulated throughout the concession stand, restrooms, guard rooms and office therefore, at least three days are spent power washing the entire building. Thankfully, all of the important documents and items in the pool house are covered to prevent damage from the dirt and dust. The most steroids task of cleaning is dragging out everything from storage and cleaning the pool gear. Unfortunately, the pool has at least 30 tanning chairs and six tables, each with chairs, that guards drag out of storage, clean, and finally place them in their spots in which they would stay for three months. Many people who have seen asphalt pavement soon after its installation praise the pavement's smooth finish and depth of color. As the years pass, however, the pavement can begin to show signs of damage from the weather or traffic. If the pavement has been protected by sealcoating and received timely repairs, the evidence of aging may not become noticeable for 10 or 15 years.
