France is a magnificent country rich in untouched nature and splendorous mountains, rivers, lush forests, and oceans. It is the largest country in Western Europe and is one of the most influential global powers. Within this vast country is some of the world’s best foods and wines; Roquefort-sur-Soulzon yields the world-famous Roquefort cheese and Champagne yields Champagne, the world-renowned sparkling wine. France is the largest country in Western Europe and stretches over 643,427 square kilometers, approximately eighty percent of the size of Texas. **Add that the 643k includes overseas**Metropolitan France, which exclusively consists of continental (or mainland) France and the island of Corsica, is approximately 551,500 square kilometers in area. France has a hexagonal shape and is consistently referred to as L’Hexagone. France’s hexagonal shape allows it to border many European countries such as Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco, and Andorra. With a population of 62,392,846 people, France undoubtedly has many different cultures and traditions.

Picturesque landscapes, quaint castles, and chic cities lie within France’s seemingly endless landmass.

Paris, the capital of France, is the most densely populated city in the country, with an estimated population of over two million people. Paris is known as the “city of romance” and receives thirty million foreign visitors per year. The most famous tourist attractions are the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, and Notre Dame de Paris.
