Ky is another strong character throughout Cassia’s story. Ky gives off a mysterious vibe that is intriguing, making you want to know more about who he is and what his story is. Ky seems like a gentle and relaxed person, but he hides the knowledge of all of the horrors within the Society and the things Officials don’t reveal to the people of the society. As the story goes on Ky’s devastating backstory is slowly revealed, and you can’t help but feel sorry for him and you start to understand him beyond the surface of what he will allow people to see.
I am not such a big fan of Xander. Most of the time he seems like a two dimensional plot device instead of an actual character. He is easy-going and loyal to Cassia but doesn't have a very complex
Although Caius does not initially strike the reader as a particularly amiable character, Jack Whyte continues to develop Britannicus and his friendship with Publius, revealing a more compassionate character.
The disparity that develops between Cal's actions and his essence as a person is very much a struggle between wanting to do good and the temptations of evil. From early on in Cal's life he is characterized as a manipulative and almost evil person, always jealous of his b...
According to the novel, Cassia has always trusted the Society’s choices. When her best friend appears on the matching screen, Cassia is certain he is the one. Until she sees another face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. Now she is faced with impossible choices, between Xander and Ky. In the beginning of the Book Cassius uses anecdotes of Caesar’s weakness and faults, argumentum ad antiquatum, and ethos on Brutus to persuade him to join the conspiracy to kill Caesar, this works on Brutus and shows that anyone, even people as stoic as Brutus, can be persuaded by appealing to their motivations. Cassius, a very suspicious character thru ought the play tells Brutus to “be not jealous on me” (827), in the quote he tells Brutus to not be suspicious of him because he is just a friend who genuinely cares. Cassius does this to put himself on Brutus’ side and not seem like a distant person, this allows him to criticize Caesar and suggest that he is a bad influence on Rome which appeals to Brutus’ desire to keeping Rome safe. After setting himself up as a friend to Brutus, Cassius uses harsh anecdotes on the weakness of Caesar to show that he isn’t fit to rule Rome. Cassius recollects on a time when he and Caesar went swimming in the river Tiber and Caesar screamed “Help me, Cassius or I sink” (828) to de...
character. When he is talking to himself about killing Caesar he compares him to a serpent
In Act 1 Scene 2, we see that Cassius is jealous of Caesar and detests
Cassius is a sly, deceitful and an untrustworthy character. Caesar described him best. He said (act1, scene 2, line 195), “Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look; He thinks too much. Such men are dangerous”. Cassius is very superstitious. This is shown when he says (act 5, scene 1, line 75) “ you know I held Epicurus strong, and his opinion. Now I change my mind, and partly credit things that do presage…”. He believes in omen and signs that foretell events to come. Cassius is conceded. This is shown when he says to Brutus (act1, scene 2, line 116), “ And this man is now become a god, and Cassius is now a wretched creature, and must bend his body if Caesar careless but nod on him…”. Cassius continues on saying about times when he saved Caesar from drowning and when he saw Caesar with a fever and he started to shake. All this tells us that Cassius thinks he is just as good or even better than Caesar.
The character of Micheal Cassio is easily manipulated. He is very involved with his work as leutenant in Othello's army. He also continues to see the good in people even when they do him wrong. He continues to stay loyal to Othello, even after his is puplicaly humiliated and stripped of his duties by the Moor."Thy honesty and love doh mince this matter, Making it light to Cassio. Cassio, I love thee, But nevermore be officer of mine." ( Act 2 Sc. 3, pg. 97) His public displays of weakness also make him a likely target for manipulation.
Shakespeare's good characters, in the play King Lear, are considered good because they are loyal even when they are disguised from or unrecognizable by those to whom they owe loyalty. In addition, their loyalty does not waver even when they are banished or mistreated by those to whom they are loyal. Cordelia, Edgar and Kent are all characters that exemplify this goodness and unwavering loyalty.
In conclusion, Cassius has proven to be the greatest manipulator in the play, Julius Caesar. He himself implies that he manipulates others and the wise Caesar also states that Cassius was untrustworthy. Using flattery, the people of Rome, and self-gain, Cassius has been chosen for the best and most manipulated character in the play.
Character Description: Leo also known as Leonardo the Silent is Rafe’s best and only friend even though he’s imaginary he feels real to Rafe. He’s like the brother he never had and throughout the story. He always supports Rafe no matter what.
There is much to talk about when the topic of who is the worst most dishonorable character in Julius Caesar Is brought up. There is no one person in the play that is all gratifying or completely dreadful. Although there are some, that stand above the rest. Such as Brutus, Antony, and Cassius. I will show you who is the worst of the worst.
The protagonist of the story, Scout, is a great example of a character that matures and grows throughout the story. After Atticus comes back home from work, Scout immediately goes up to him to tell him all the misfortunes of the first day of school. After listening and analyzing the situation Atticus tells Scout “‘You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view’”(30). This quote by Atticus makes an impact in Scout’s life because she does not just use it to put up with Ms. Caroline, but she uses it with Mrs. Dubose. Scout did not “understand” why Mrs. Dubose acts the way she does. Whenever Scout greets her with a “hey” Mrs. Dubose replies with only insults. She only insults the children, but after the incident with the camellias, she wants them to read to her. After learning about her morphine addiction, Scout figures out that each time Mrs. Dubose hurls insults at them, it was due to withdrawal symptoms, not because of hatred towards them. When Scout analyzes the situation “from her point of view” she realizes that Mrs. Dubose likes her and Jem. Scout’s growth is exemplified when she uses a lesson her father teaches her, to reveal the true feelings Mrs. Dubose has for Jem and Scout. Using the quote from Atticus, through Mrs. Dubose’s “point of view” Scout “understands” that she did not hate her and Jem, she, in fact, likes her and Jem. Nevertheless, Scout is not the only dynamic lead character in the novel. Jem is also a dynamic lead character in To Kill A Mockingbird. Jem is the older brother of Scout, whose growth is demonstrated along with Scout’s in the novel. In Jem’s room, Scout and Jem contemplate all the people in Maycomb. They try to classify everybody into groups. After a moment of realization, Jem says “‘I’ve got it all figured out. There’s four types of folks in the world’”(226). Throughout the
8. I particularly despise Magnus, because I feel like he takes advantage of women. In the book he was so indecisive and he proposed to so many women and he kind of used them, he didn’t want to settle down and he couldn’t choose, because he didn’t want to be with one person for the rest of his life. He also cheated on poppy while they were engaged. Personally I feel like people have to love someone, in order to want to be with them for the rest of their life. So, I don’t like magnus, because he is kind of disrespectful and selfish and he used people for his own
When I was little Kyra was kind of a jerk honestly. Every time she had to babysit the whole house was in fear waiting for mom and dad to get back to save us from this tyrant they called our sister. Even then, though, she helped in her own way. Discipline was rather lacking in our household for a couple years and Kyra tried to institute her own forms of punishment. I remember if I was annoying her she would put me in my room, but since the doors didn’t have locks she had to get a chair and jam it under the doorknob of the door so I couldn’t open it. It was rather genius if I must say so. She gave us the little discipline that I
