Koalas are located in the Southeastern and eastern part of Australia. One reason why they are located there is because of the Blue Gum trees. Frogs are located in every continent in the world exept for Antarctica because of the ponds and water streams. Both Koalas and Frogs are becoming extinct. Frogs population is dying. Koalas population dropped after farmers cut down many of the forests where Koalas lived and hunters killed the animals for their fur. Also Koalas are losing their home. For example wild goats eat the small Blue Gum trees. Meaning Koalas would run out of food. As we know both Koala and Frogs have similarites but they also have lots of differences.
For example, they both come from different parts of the planet. Also they
are 2 completely different animals. According to HMH Journeys and Chris Jozefowicz the reasons why they are going to be extinct are 2 different causes. Also people are doing different things to try to save both the Koalas and Frogs. For instance they were born in different habbitats. Another reason is Frogs need to be around an enviorment that has water. On the other hand, Koalas need Blue gum trees and a habbitat that has lots of bushes and trees. As we now know that they have lots of differences, but they also have a few similarities. For example, the causes of these animals are all happening by people. Example people are polluting the frogs habbitat. On the other hand Koalas are losing their home and people are killing them for their fur.
Hey, I didn’t see you there, how are you?I'm just wondering whether or not a big ol' grizzly bear is going to come charging at me at any point in my life, but seeing as grizzly bears are endangered that probably won't happen. In the past, there were thought to be around 50,000 grizzly bears in North America, nowadays they are growing sparse there are estimated to be only around 1800, now not even a 20th of the population in the past. Most of these grizzlies are located in Yellowstone National Park and Alaska, but they can also be found in Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho and Montana. Some are thought to be in Washington.
Koalas, an Australian native, have the scientific name, ‘Phascolarctos cinereus’, meaning 'ash grey pouched bear.' They are sometimes called koala bears due to their resemblance to bears. However, they are not related to each other. Instead, koalas are related to other marsupials, such as kangaroos and wombats. Being a marsupial means that the females have a pouch for newborns. The Australian Koala Foundation estimated that less than 80000 koalas are left in Australia (Australian Koala Foundation n.d.).
The gorillas live mainly in coastal West Africa in the Congo, Zaire, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon. Gorillas live in the rain forest. They usually live on the ground but build nest in trees to sleep in. Gorilla troops keep a 15-20 square mile range which often overlaps the range of other troops. There are three different kinds of gorillas. The eastern lowland gorilla the western lowland and the mountain gorilla. They are herbivores and eat only wild celery, roots, tree bark pulp, fruit, stems of many plants and bamboo shoots. They spend nearly half their day eating.
How Koalas Live Koalas live in complex social groups and contrary to popular opinion, they are not migratory animals. Koalas are highly territorial and in stable breeding groups, individual members of koala society maintain their own "home range" areas. In this example , 'Arnie' is the dominant male, and his home range, the largest at 1km x 300-400m, and 33 hectares in area, overlaps the home ranges of both males and females. Arnie regularly traverses the area of his home range in a single night during the breeding season. This is a socially secure, stable population.
Have you ever wondered about gorillas? A gorilla is a very strong built great ape with a large head and short neck. Gorillas are the largest member of the primate family. Gorillas are quiet, shy, peaceful, and live in central Africa and tropical rainforests. Several thousand years ago, gorillas split from its closest relative the chimpanzees. There are four types of gorillas, being Eastern lowland, Western lowland, mountain, and cross river gorillas. Ecology is how organism interact with one another and the environment. It is the study of relationships between two living organisms.
These animals are diminishing in numbers because of illegal hunting and encroachment by humans. The mountain gorilla is considered to be critically endangered. There are roughly 700 mountain gorillas remaining on Earth, and nearly half live in the forests of the Virunga Mountains in central Africa. These gorillas live on the green, volcanic slopes of Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo—areas that have seen much human violence from which the gorillas have not escaped. The greatest threat to the mountain gorilla...
The Kermode bear is an interesting bear that’s endangered. It eats a healthy diet of salmon, found from the ocean, and berries ,found from brushes. It can either have a black coat of fur or some bears have white fur. The Kermode bear has many nicknames such as Spirit bear and ghost bear (Shoumatoff). Meanwhile they are rare which means we don’t want them to be exists because they are a unique species and they help the environment by eating salmon as their main source of food they take the “leftovers” and throw them in the grass this fertilizes the soil making it rich (Tweed).
They are called Alaskan Native Dogs they are both interior bloodlines of the Eskimo dog bloodlines. They are modern racers they are knowledge of sled dog racing. They can carry and load over 700lb they had to be hardy to do that. They have good expectation they are Salish wooly dogs. They are early warning systems also they are mail run dogs. Some of the dogs don’t race and some have just important jobs like rescue sled racers if they are hurt and some deliver and help people give others their mail. In winter some moose like to kill Siberian husky. Some Siberian husky can reach to 46 pounds and some of them can live average life till 10 to 15 years old. The Siberian husky can go a far distance without food or water.
Ancestors are animals or forms of the animals that lived a long time ago. Relatives share common ancestors. For example, if you have cousins, one of your parents and one of their parents have the same father and mother, and the same grandparents, etc. A trait is a feature, such as a body part, like a tail. Elephants and wooly mammoths have similarities, or traits in common, such as they both had or have long trunks. The saber tooth tiger, on the other hand, is not believed to be closely related to tigers. Let’s explore extinct versus living things and how they relate to one another.
I went to the Oklahoma City Zoon and I became interested in the gorilla’s exhibit because of the different facts they had all over the room. Gorillas are similar to human in many ways. Although many people hate to think of it that way, it really is true. The zoo did a great job at informing the visitors about the gorillas within the exhibit and also the different characteristics all of them share in general. This exhibit provided probably the most information out of any other exhibit. I thought I would share what I learned and the notes I took from my visit to the zoo.
Research shows that stable Koala populations occur only when there are primary tree species present. (Australian Koala Foundation) Habitat destruction plays a big role in the survival of P. cinereus in urban areas. Construction destroys their habitats and food supply, causing a rapid decrease in the koala population that inhibit highly populated areas. They also become prone to disease, and reproduction rates decrease in accordance to human
Raccoons (Procyon lotor) are members of the family Procyonidae that occupy a geographic range spanning from southern Canada to Panama and includes islands near the coasts (Lotze and Anderson 1979). P. lotor has pointed foxlike snout offsets its round face, which highlighted by a distinctive black bandit’s mask across the eyes. Their body is typically also round, that can also be classified as a pear shape in certain positions. Its tail bushy and it is striped with an alteration of black and dark bands (Zeveloff 2002).

Many scientists were fascinated by the creatures that seemed to disappear from the forests of Queensland every year and during this time were thought to be hibernating. Although before they had a chance to study them in further detail the frogs became extinct.
When a species becomes endangered, it means that the species is being threatened with extinction. Since the beginning of time, numerous species have gone extinct due to naturally changing physical and biological conditions. Human factors such as pollution, commercial overexploitation, poaching and deforestation have all contributed to the increase in the rate of extinction of animal species.
