The British drama King Lear was written by William Shakespeare, and it gave a very strong message to the audience. The message was that you can't really trust anybody in this world, because even the people that mean the most to you can backstab you when you least expect it. Take Lear for example, he went from being a good noble king to an insane man over a couple of days. One reason why Lear went so crazy was the fact that he split up his kingdom between his two daughters who spoke their love to him and banished his youngest daughter for not lying about how much she loved him like her two siblings. That's not the worst part though, the main reason why he went insane was because the two daughters he thought loved him so much did nothing but backstab him after all he did was love and care for them throughout their life.
Through the drama, you can tell that Lear is a passionate man but also a very violent and temperate person through his actions. For example in the very beginning of the play he banishes his daughter Cordelia for not speaking her love toward him, he gets so furious about it because he loved Cordelia the most out of all his children. I think he gets so upset because he feels like she's ungrateful for everything he's done for his favorite little girl because she simply doesn't want to say how she feels for him. At the same time he's banishing Cordelia though, his most loyal servant Kent tries to jump in and defend Cordelia. He does this because he knows that Regan and Goneril are lying about how much he means to them. He tries to make Lear understand that he's making a big mistake about banishing Cordelia because she's the only one that had truth behind the words she said to Lear. The problem was, Lear is already outra...

...ar and Cordelia are being held captive by a captain who is acting as a mercenary. Goneril had poisoned Regan, which explains why Regan is feeling sick at the end of the war. Regan ends up dying, and Goneril kills herself right next to her now deceased sister. Cordelia gets hung by the mercenary, and is now left alone to see all his children dead right in front of them. With nothing but heartbreak Lear ends up dying with a broken heart.
If i was Lear i think the same thing would’ve happened to me, yeah he went to war against his two daughters that backstabbed him but the last thing he wanted to see was them dead. If I were too see all my children dead in front of me im pretty sure i would go so crazy in my mind with heartbreak that I would either go on an outrage and try to kill the people that killed my daughter/ daughters or I too would die with a broken heart.
