In zoos and aquariums animals may look and seem happy, but when everyone leaves they resume their terrible life. We shut close down zoos and aquariums because keeping animals in captivity is abuse. Zoos and aquariums are not the animals natural habitat, and animals could easily overpower humans anytime.
When zoos and aquariums put animals in captivity it’s not their natural habitat, and can change their whole lifestyle.When watching a mother love and care for her child is adorable, bu tits not adorable when she doesn't care for her child. Keeva was born March 12, 2016 in Maryland Zoo. Her mother Carole “was not nursing nr bonding with her,” Keeva was otherwise, “ignored by her mother”(Source 4). This statement suggests that from being in captivity, it changes the animals lifestyle. Carole obviously didn’t know how to raise a child, because she wasn’t in the wild learning how to from other moms. Watching animal shows/stunts can be fun and entertaining, but can be extremely dangerous. For example in 2010 Dawn Brancheau, was killed as she “was pulled underwater by a 12,000-pound orca”(Source 1). Sadly, her death shows that at anytime, any animal could cause a similar incident, and the trainer could wind up like Dawn. This statement shows that keeping zoos and aquariums open, could kill trainers. In the Pittsburgh Zoo they use innocent dogs to “herd” up the elephants. When the herd the elephants, they send “the dogs out to nip at their feet” and bring them in(Source 3). Elephants are much stronger, and bigger than dogs, and humans. So if one of them got mad, they could not only harm themselves, and the dogs, they could harm the crew, and even the audience. Which is yet another reason why we should close them
