Julius Caesar is a Political Play
Have you noticed that all political plays backgrounds are nearly
always the same? They all always have a mischievous plot to them.
Shakespeare has fitted two years of Julius Caesar's life into just two
hours. Julius Caesar is a political and a historical play, so I aim to
look at both of the aspects of the play. In my piece of writing I
intend to write about the historical background of the play, the main
characters, the conspirators and the purpose of the plot. I will write
an in depth analysis on the two major political speeches made by
Brutus and Mark Anthony, the explanation to political Shakespearean
background to political intrigue, in this case Queen Elizabeth, the
Babington plot and how the audience would react to the theme of the
play. Finally I will write a conclusion and inclusion of how politics
never really changes. Julius Caesar was born on July 13, 100 BC in
Rome to Julius Caesar and Aurelia. He is an only son but he had a
sister named Julia. Caesar's family was not rich or very influential.
His family was one of the last recognized Patrician families. Caesar
was said to be homosexual with king Nicomedes IV of Bithynia. This
accusation would be a smear on Caesar for the rest of his life. In 80
BC Caesar participated in the siege of Mytilene where he is awarded
the "Civic crown" for saving a Roman citizen. It was the highest award
for any Roman Citizen! In 77 BC Caesar left for Rhodes to study
Oratory under Apollonius Molon. He needed to brush up on his public
abilities in order to climb the "Cursus Honorum", the political
ladder. Caesar had three wives Cornelia, Pompeia and Calpurnia. C...

sent to Tixall.
In most political plots the audience would have either understood the
play by understanding the words or by the performers expressions. Only
the more educated people would understand the words everyone else
would understand it by expressions of the performer.
Politics never really changes. In the modern era in some countries the
government are strict and expose the danger quickly. In the roman era,
emperors were executed if they were corrupt or if they weren't doing
the job properly. Cf Ceaucescu was executed live on television because
he was corrupt and was causing economic disaster to the country he was
ruling. This proves that politics never really changes because rulers
are executed in the modern era as well as in the roman era.

In conclusion I think that the stage directions and dramatic irony are significant to the play, and without them there would be no need for a lot of the events that happen in the play.

He was born in 100 B.C. in Rome, Italy. He grew up to live in Rome and become a General of war and marry Calpurnia. Till the end of Act Ⅲ he is considered the unofficial ruler of Rome. He had two adopted sons know as Mark Antony and Octavius Caesar. Caesar is known for his death and the chaos to follow.
Who was Julius Caesar? Julius Caesar accomplished many things in his day, which most would consider unbelievable. He has been considered a tyrant or dictator, and some believe he was one of the world’s greatest politician. In this paper we will compare the textbook and documentation that was written around 44 B.C.E the time of his death. The documents are considered to be “primary sources”, because of the timeframe in which they were written. To get a grasp on whom, Julius Caesar really was, we need to not only dive into the primary sources, but we need to view his accomplishments. By analyzing his accomplishments, textbook, and the primary sources we can better understand just how Julius Caesar was portrayed during his reign.
Julius Caesar was born into aristocracy. His father was said to be related to the goddess Venus and his mother’s lineage claimed to be that of the first kings. Seeing
From the absolute power of ancient kings and medieval monarchs to the tyrannical dictators of today, political corruption has been a persistent aspect of governed societies since their emergence early in human existence. In the quest for power, individuals create furtive conspiracies to overthrow governments and destroy policies. The presence of political corruption and conspiracy in Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Julius Caesar is prominent, as Brutus and Mark Antony conduct opposing conspiracies in relation to corruption in the Roman government. Shakespeare depicts Antony’s emotional drive, ability to set aside honor, and capacity to use manipulative language as additive to the strength of his conspiracy. These qualities allow his conspiracy to undermine Brutus and, in doing so, emphasize Brutus’ flaws of uncertainty, excessive accentuation of honor, and naïveté.
Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus Augustus was born in Rome, Italy in 100 BC. Although he is a known descendant of Roman Aristocrats, his family itself was not very rich. When Julius Caesar was just 16 his father, Gaius Caesar died. Soon after his father’s death, Julius Caesar would go on to betroth the daughter of a noble, Cornelia. Furthermore his betrothal drew the attention of the Roman dictator Sulla, who commanded Caesar to divorce his wife or lose his life/the property. Refusing, Caesar found an escape within the military where in 84 BC he started his career first serving in the province of Asia then later Cilicia ("Biography Channel website").
Julius Cesar was a man of many accomplishments. He was either loathed or loved, with no middle ground. His death came by the hands of his Senate, including people he trusted. There are no direct records of his assassination but there are “firsthand” accounts that were written after the event occurred. How he came to his death is known and stays consistent through many records. What greatly differs is how he is depicted in the reading, he was either a model politician or he was a selfish dictator.
Gaius Julius Caesar was born in Rome in July 100 BC. Rome was a Republic at this time. He was a statesman, Roman general, Consul, and notable author of Latin prose. He played a significant role in the events that led to the collapse of the Roman Republic and rise of the Roman Empire. He was a leader in a nation where the people were not involved in the government decision-making process. Thus, he had majority of the power in the Republic and was able to form a huge army. He was able to triumph, conquer new lands with the army at his grasp and command. As Caesar acquired more power over the years, som...
In this essay I will discuss Act 1 Scene 1, Act 3 Scene 1, Act 3 Scene
In the play it can be seen that there are various ways in which the
