Steve Maraboli once said, “Don't let someone’s words blind you from their behavior.” this quote is trying to warn people from getting blind by the manipulators and not paying attention to what they are doing. In William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, Cassius comes up with ways to blind Brutus out of what is the actual reason to kill Caesar. Although some people may believe that humans are too smart to be manipulated, Shakespeare illustrates Cassius using words that drive Brutus into doing what he wants to persuade that words and languages can be powerful weapons to manipulate others. First thing that comes to mind when the word manipulation is used, is someone trying to convince another person into doing something they would not do if it was asked directly. Cassius tells Brutus about how he should not be feeling upset because he is the most wonderful human being in Rome. Cassius manipulates Brutus by his words saying that “Tis just,...had his eyes.”(I.ii.56-64). Cassius compliments Brutus and tells him what his worth is and if Brutus could look through Cassius’ eye that how he should not be under Caesar. Cassius manipulates Brutus by using kind and respectful words to tell Brutus how much more value he deserves than Caesar. Cassius is thinking about how he can manipulate Brutus. He comes up with a plan to write letters that appear to be from the people of Rome saying that they hate Caesar and want Brutus to rule. Cassius thinks, “Well Brutus thou art noble. Yet I see...and after this let Caesar seat his sure,” (I.ii.304-318). Cassius says that Brutus is a noble guy but he could bend his shape and use ot for his own will to kill Caesar.
