All he ever wanted was to join the Federal Armed Services, along with his friend, Carl. He was the only son of a wealthy Filipino family, and very privileged. Luke Skywalker is the orphan from Tatooine in Star Wars. While they may not seem or look similar at all at first glance, there are three reasons why Luke and Johnnie have similar character traits. Both fought valiantly, came from SiFi universes that resemble each other, and became people they never thought they could be. Firstly, Johnnie and Luke are both fighters. They live in similar SiFi universes. Both Johnnie and Luke dealt with aliens and strange creatures, even though every alien Johnnie came across wanted to kill him. Even their equipment was similar, with many flying machines both used for fighting. Johnnie and Luke both fought haughty and deceitful enemies, and brought peace to their system. Finally, both Johnnie and Luke did something they thought they wouldn’t. Luke never thought he’d leave the dank, dirty, dusty windswept planet he called home to become a pilot, let alone a jedi. Johnnie also never thought he’d join the mobile infantry, as he was told he had ‘lack of ability’ and couldn’t join any of the branches which were his first picks. Luke also felt rejection, as he struggled at first to find a proper master to train him how to be a jedi. And once they found their place, both went through difficult and arduous training to accomplish their goals, even though their odds of success were smaller than a mustard seed. In conclusion, Johnnie and Luke resemble each other strikingly, from joining the army, to undergoing difficult training, and becoming resilient and honorable young men, a result they never thought
