Mahon believes that happiness won't come to you if you look for it.John Stuart Mill's focuses on talking about unhappiness and not to search for happiness.If you're not looking for happiness, it will come to you sooner or later, but it will come just wait. I agree with John Stuart Mill's argument that we should not search for happiness. Because it won't come to you when you look for happiness.

I agree with him is because some Americans try to make new year's a happy day and look for happiness. also Christmas they try to make it a day to give gifts to people and also a happy day. One more reason is because he tells the people to not have a happy new year.

The evidence I have to support this is that McMahon says two people do not have a happy new year’s. Also that in the 17 century that people made happy to be a good, pleasure, and to have a good feeling. McMahon probably had a situation with happiness and he just stops trying to find happiness. and it came to him little by little when he was not looking for it. McMahon wrote this because he wants people to know that happiness won't come to you.

The background information I found is that McMahons is basically saying not follow happiness, but let it come to you. I agree with McMahon because when you're searching for your happiness, it will not come to you. so it's better to let happiness get to you instead of you looking for it.
