As a friend to many and a giver to all, John Dobbs was the type of person everyone either wanted to be around or inspired to be like. With a smile planted on his face and a heart as pure as gold, the man affectionately known as “John Boy,” was driven by vision and persistently passionate about helping those in need. However, on July 26, the man who invested so much time, energy and effort into giving back and loving Blythe, as no one after him could ever do, passed away after a 19-month battle with glioblastoma. From paddle boarding, camping out in the desert, boating, jeeping, motorcycle racing, bumping his stereo and jamming out to AC/DC, Dobbs lived every moment of his life having fun and appreciating those around in. “He helped us run our Utopia Record Store,” mom, Darlene Dobbs said. “Sometimes we had to even pull him out of school because the manager didn’t show up. Then he went on to become a salesperson when he was in high school and hired Tammy at Utopia Record.
