The assassination of JFK changed the direction of the cold war , due to the popularity of JFK and the violent nature of his assassination, which led to multiple conspiracy theories and depression for americans. The cold war was a period of tension world wide but it mainly focused between the U.S and USSR. And also played a big role in the assassination because there was potential for a nuclear war. The nuclear arms race that started right after the Korean War was over and it was influenced by both president John F. Kennedy and Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev. There was no actual war fought between US and the USSR, but it did promote tension and massive weapon development. One of the reasons why the cold war lasted so long was because the Soviets never accepted the idea that the Western powers would have a totally free hand in Western Germany and they were furious when the Germans in the late 1950s have obtained their own nuclear weapons. President Eisenhower wanted Europe able to defend itself. John F. Kennedy was born in Brookline, Massachusetts, on May 29, 1917. he graduated from Harvard in 1940. then shortly after he signed up for the navy, and 3 years into his navy service, August 2nd at 2:30 in the morning Kennedys pt boat (Patrol Torpedo boats) was hit and sunken by a Japanese destroyer boat. Kennedy swam out to save Patrick Henry McMahon and Charles Harris. Kennedy pulled McMahon by a life-vest strap, and he talked Harris into doing the difficult swim back to the wreckage. After he came back from the war, he became a House of Representative Democratic Congressman, and then senate in 1953. He later then married Jacqueline Bouvieron September 12, 1953. They had two children Caroline and John Jr, and a third child Patric... ... middle of paper ... ...nor Connally. It also stated that Jack Ruby was not part of any conspiracy of the assassination because there was no evidence found. There is many conspiracies when it comes to the assassination of J.F.K one of the big ones is that they blamed the cia for the assassination and also for his brother, Robert kennedy. Others believed that the mob was the one who killed him. The warren report was released to assure americans that they have found his assassin. So in conclusion, the Assassination of J.F.K had a big role in the cold war, he had a lot of achievements as president. Kennedy was also the first catholic president. When Kennedy got assassinated it affect almost everyone, and put americans into depression. There were a lot of conspiracies on who killed J.F.K and how they killed him. Nobody will truly know who actually killed the president and why they killed him.
