Everyone has the rights to express how they feel but in certain situations those rights can been taken over board especially in the court cases Immunomedics, Inc. v. Jane Doe, 342 N.J. Super. 160. “Moonshine” at first was using her rights of freedom of speech expressing how she felt about the particular company Immunomedics. I agree that there is nothing wrong with expressing you’re feeling about a company, but you have to be smart in how and the ways you do so. “Moonshine” wasn’t quit smart when disclosing confidently information about the company which they signed a binding contract stating that employee wasn’t allowed to share information about the company. I agree with that “moonshine” should be found guilty since they breached company
policies.

The article entitled Bootlegging Mothers and Drinking Daughters: Gender and Prohibition in Butte, Montana written by Mary Murphy, deals with the prohibition period in the 1920 in a town called Butte. This article dives into the pre-prohibition era and prohibition era in Butte, a town that had a very strong male dominated feel. The main argument within this article was that the act of drinking was thoroughly gender-segregated, with women not being able to indulge in public drinking like their male counterparts due to the judgments they faced. The author was successful in explaining the roles that many women had endured within the time period prior to prohibition and during prohibition by using examples of women in different economic classes
Actress Jane Wyatt dies on October 20, 2006 at the age of 96. Reports say she passed away in her Bel-Air home in her sleep due to natural causes. Upon news of her passing, hundreds of websites and message boards mourn and exchange stories as to how this woman has affected their lives. An online guest book was immediately created in order for Jane Wyatt fans to congregate and write down their memories of her through television and film. The fans, although never meeting her in person, connect with her through a different level. The fans relate to her through the public eye, not simple as an actress, but as a friend, educator, and mentor. Deontology theory defines an ethical action as one that adheres to a set of rules and duties. PharmaCARE’s actions are unethical by way of this moral compass because the firm has failed to perform in accordance with one very important duty, the duty to safeguard human dignity and basic human rights. Mainly, the article focuses on the injustices people have encountered in a work environment. Rhodes appeals to her audience as everyday “average” people who identify with the plight of another. Although she makes a compelling argument referencing studies and personal stories of people this has happened to, there are flaws in her argument that could discredit the validity of her reasoning. The logic in her article highly finds favor with the general working public. It is both consistent and appropriate. However, it is not complete, nor fully believable. I will discuss the following in the next paragraphs. Her use of research and anecdotes are mostly one-sided and while it brings valid points for the workers, fail to portray opposing views on the issue, that of the employer. ...usly shamed, embarrassed, and demeaned their employees. I think this kind of behavior is a way of separating employers from employees. It helps keep employees in line and also adds the benefit of making employers feel good about themselves at the expense of their employees. Demeaning actions prevent employees from organizing or protesting for higher wages or better conditions. It keeps them “in their place” and does not allow them to hope or strive for anything better. In spite of the dehumanization of employees by employers, there are silent rebellions committed by lower class employees such as jokes, gossip, doing other's work, and just in general helping each other out. These are silent protests, they do not change the status quo in any way, that would be too risky for these employees. It is survival and caring in a corporate world that does not care about them.
In summation of the previous stated details, further action would not be required in this situation. Retribution was delivered to all parties involved, News of the World ceased to exist; Rebekah faced legality troubles in addition to being exposed for committing adultery, and Rupert Murdoch admitted to flaws within his company. The way I would handle future situations from here on out would entail myself consulting with HR department and hiring our own private investigators to monitor our employees to make sure they are not corrupt and terminate the bad ones as time progress.
A counterculture is a group that is disobedient towards the larger society by not following their norms, values, and practices and make up their own (Thomas). An example of a counterculture would be the moonshiners in the 1920s era when they illegally made alcohol during the Prohibition because the rest of society had to follow the law of not being allowed to manufacture alcohol, but moonshiners dismissed this law and made their own (Rosenberg). In the 1920s, after the American Revolution, most people fulfilled their weekend activities with alcohol consumption (Rosenberg). Societies organized a Temperance movement in which they tried various techniques to try to dissuade citizens from drinking because they thought that the alcoholics were causing society’s tribulations like crime; however they did not work that well so they started focusing on trying to complete ban any alcoholic consumption (Rosenberg). It was in 1919 that the 18th Amendment was ratified, stating that it was illegal to sell and manufacture alcohol, and it went into effect during the 1920s (Blumenthal). Many people were outraged by this new amendment; however they began to find loopholes such as how the amendment never stated that they were forbidden to consume alcohol (Blumenthal). Some people did not follow this amendment and began to find ways to manufacture and sell alcohol to various citizens; these people were called moonshiners and they would make alcohol and sell it to people illegally. The life of Jane Kenyon was one full of victories, hardships, and all around love for her creative and poignant poetry that she shared with the world. Throughout the terrible events that plagued her adulthood, Kenyon maintained persevering and doing what she loved most, which was to keep writing and inspiring others. Morality is the biggest and best reason for this act because people generally want to do the good moral thing. If a person should have to blow the whistle on a company they should know that for every action there is a reaction, and the reaction of whistle blowing might lead to getting fired. One of the most controversial types of whistle blowing is that of impersonal. If a company is making products that are unsafe because they are trying to save a few dollars, an employee could see this as immoral and tell the public about it. The whistle blower would do this based on Kant's theory. It would be following the moral law to do so. If a company is cutting corners and hurting others, it would be morally unacceptable not to blow the whistle on this company. To knowingly let innocent people get hurt because of something that you could have stopped is morally wrong. A lot of people would blow the whistle on a company that is making unsafe products, but not all. A number of people would not inform the public of the company's wrongdoings. They would not do it out of fear that they might loose there job or even be blacklisted from the industry altogether. If they are not fired they will most likely be outcasts at their job and looked over at promotion time.
