I was amazed at Jane Addams history, background, and her commitment to peace, civil rights, and women’s right to vote. She was exposed to how the poor was treated through her father’s job and the people he was affiliated with. Did you know that her father (John Huy Addams) built a successful mill business and he was an Illinois state senator? One of his closest friend was Abraham Lincoln.
