Everybody’s morals and views on life are different. Most people’s morals and views are based on their religion. One of the main reasons the people opposing homosexual marriage give is “It offends God”. First off, this is America. Just shoving it in someone’s face that homosexual marriage is ‘wrong’ because it offends God, is wrong. You have to take in consideration that those people’s beliefs may be different of your own. In the Bible it says in Matthew 7:1-2 (the words of Jesus), “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others you will be judged, and with the measure you used, it will be measured to you.” It’s cruel to judge people by the way they love and who they love. It says in Genesis 1:31, “God saw all that he made and it was very good.” This right here proves to those who believe that God hates homosexuals that it is in correct. In the bible it does say that for a man to lie with another man as he would a woman is an abomination. Christians say it is a sin, but to judge these actions and to be cruel to these people is a sin. Opposing people have said that whenever one violates the natural moral order established by God, that they are sinning and same-sex marriage is doing exactly that. Well the people who have said that are judging the people who support same-sex marriage are also sinning. Religious churches oppose same-sex marriage. Not the sacred books or whatever. No where in the bible does it say a man cannot marry a man and a woman cannot marry a woman. It does say that the sexual relationship is a sin but what a couple does behind doors in none of anyone’s business. I can guarantee that most couples do not marry for the sex that is the emotional, loving relationship they share betwee...

Many laws supporting homosexuals have been created since 1992, but the breakthrough happens in the 21st century. During 2011 the former president
Why is it wrong to let humans of the same sex marry someone they truly love? Many people in our society share different opinions on why it is right and why it is wrong. Kim Davis (a clerk in Rowan County Kentucky) decided to say no to handing out marriage licenses to same sex couples because she felt it was against her religion. She refused to give a license to a couple of the same sex and was put in jail. In this case, I am against Davis because you as a person have no right to go against law and this individual freedom. I am very religious, but I have come to see that there should never be a reason to forbid someone from the person they love just based off of their sex. The law in the U.S permits same-sex marriage and no matter how mad people get, it is now allowed. Men and women now have freedom to love their partner with comfort in society. They now have the right to be married. Gay marriage has a historical background dating back to the 1970’s. In the case of Baker v.s Nelson, two men applied for a marriage license and were rejected even though the Minnesota law did not specify gender in the law of marriage. This is another point where law did not specify gender, so why was it rejected? This tells me that people judged and did not like the idea of same-sex marriage, so they just agreed to reject it. Individual freedom to love another person and get married was taken away from these people just because
Currently, only 13 countries offer rights for members of the LGBT community. Within those countries, few offer equal rights such as health care, marriage rights, and adoption to LGBT members. Many people around the globe would agree that these rights, along with all other rights granted to heterosexuals, should not be granted to these members of the LGBT community. One prevalent notion is that being gay, or being included in the LGBT community, is unnatural. This notion is simply incorrect; everyone, no matter their gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation does, in fact, deserve the same liberties as their heterosexual counterparts. Being a member of the LGBT community has no negative effect on the lives of others unless those people view heterosexuality in a negative light, allowing it to bedevil them, and ultimately change the way they live their life. Being gay is completely natural. Though some would argue that homosexuality is unnatural, others would disagree, being that research has been conducted. The conclusion was that the way people think and feel towards others is s...
The ruling of Baehr vs. Lewin was a victory for gay rights activists, hope for other states searching for the same freedom, and disappointment for opponents of same-sex marriage. Yet this victory was short lived (until complete legalization in November 13, 2013) since the state appealed the lower court’s decis...

In the recent years, the LGBT rights movements have gained momentum both in the States and internationally. Not only are more people in favour of LGBT rights (particularly same-sex marriage, as recent polls have shown), they are also seeing through the flawed nature of arguments set by those opposed to said rights. This research paper will be discussing ten of the most common arguments presented by opposers of LGBT rights (particularly expressing identity and marriage laws), as well as outline why each are easily flawed and refutable.

When it comes to it we shouldn't judge each other, just let a higher power decide. Many people's religion will not allow any fondness to gay marriage but perhaps we can come to an agreement. Most Americans don't believe that it is right for same sex marriage and would probably feel more comfortable if gays could have a different ceremony and marriage license. Every man is responsible for himself, so don't worry about if gays are condemned to hell, let god be the judge. But there should not be a spiritual marriage and a sacred marriage like the one between a man and a woman.

On June 26, 2015, the US Supreme Court ruled that the US Constitution guarantees the right for same-sex couples to marry. Should gay marriages be legal? Clearly we as a nation are undecided on this issue. Thirty-six states have passed legislation banning gay marriages, yet a few states have passed laws that allows homosexual couples the right to participate in civil unions. Several other states are also debating whether or not to allow these couples to marry. Unfortunately, the dispute has left the United States' homosexual community in an awkward position. There are some people who think that gay people have no rights and should never be allowed to marry, and others believe that gay people should enjoy the same rights and privileges as heterosexuals. I think that the United States should allow same-sex couples to marry just like heterosexual couples.
Many people believe in a traditional marriage between a man and a woman. God created man and woman to be faithful and produce children. Same-sex marriage is contrary to the word of God and the laws of nature; therefore, it is incompatible with the beliefs, sacred texts, and traditions of many religious groups. Many biblical scriptures talk about how immoral same-sex marriage is.
