Also, Attas (1979) indicated that education is not a choice for Muslim students, but a command in order to communicate with God. Furthermore, Bagheri and Khosravi (2006) pointed out that having knowledge can become immune to slips of thought and reach the understanding of the thing concerned.

Meanwhile, the time for praying and the arrangement of fasting required the cooperation of school officials which are difficult for them (Mahmoud, 1996). During the month of Ramadan, Muslim needs to have fasting. Students may not have the physical stamina to finish the task from the physical education lesson, even the regular lesson (Carter & El Hindi, 1999; Smith, 1999). Muslim student may have less participation in education activity in order to insist their religion attendance or in contrast. And as William (2003) mentioned, religious commitment can be define by how an individual dedicates themselves to following a deity and the self-perception and external behaviors. Also, as mentioned by Mission Islam, parents should always strive to promote in their kids the Islamic standards of Halal (act that is not forbidden by Allah) and Haram (act that is forbidden by Allah) as the natural reference point in their lives. Thus, the Muslim student may regard religious knowledge is important than academic knowledge which affected by their family background. Muslim children face high level of discrimination at their schools as they are welcomed with negative comments about their religion by the children of other religions. Though abnormal but normally Muslim students are labeled as Terrorists and they are often verbally coerced and mocked to migrate back to their native countries. The overall conclusion can be drawn as the study that United States suffered a lot during the attacks of 9/11 but the ones who are still facing the aftermath of that incident are the Muslims around the globe and especially those present in United States. Various reasons other than 9/11 attacks behind Muslim stigmatization around globe include stereotyping against Muslims in terms of non-flexibility, uncommon culture, simple life style and aggressive behavior.
Islam is a religion that is based on the submission oneself to the will of God, who is called Allah. Muslims are the people believe in that, regardless of their culture, background or ethnicity. It is believed that God’s prophets brought a message for the people to worship one God without intermediaries and that prophet Muhammad was the end of G...
In the Islamic faith there are five pillars that they must follow to their best ability. The Salaht, the Hajj, they must give to the poor, fasting during the month of Ramadan, and repetition of the creed, "There is no God but Allah; Muhammad is the messenger of Allah." These pillars are more like obligations in the Islamic religion.
the individual that makes that decision. Islam can literally be translated to mean submission to God and is derived from the root word meaning peace. One should always remember to go to the true source of Islam and separate what the true religion of Islam from what is portrayed in the media. Many consider Islam an exotic religion or even too extreme for the modern world. But this is because religion does not dominate everyday life in the West, where as, Islam is considered a way of life for many Muslims who are from the teachings of the Quran have learned to balance their material and spiritual life.
Islam is a very practical and comprehensive religion that teaches the individual to think and reflect by observing the world around him. Islam, being a monotheistic religion, proclaims that there is only one God and he has no partners. Muslims worship Allah in all their thoughts and actions. The message of Islam was appealing due to the fact that it allowed Jews, Christians, and other religions entities to worship freely without fear of retribution or forced conversion. In fact, up to about 100 years after Muhammad the Prophet died, conversion to Islam was frowned and was reserved for Arabs only. Islam learned how to manage and flourish as an economic and social power. The establishment of caravan routes and shipping lanes were used as arteries of intellectual and economic exchange throughout the dar al-Islam, or “House of Islam”.1(Daily Life in the Medieval Islamic World Loc 1891) At the heart of this unprecedented rise to success, in its expansiveness and pace, is Muhammad. A calculated, tactical, and forgiving man believed to be the conduit to God, a God that he preached was the one and only. During the time of Muhammad both Persia and Byzantium were in a decline due to a series of debilitating wars with one another.(MAPOOT loc 298) Now, while I will not go into depth about this topic, as it would deserve focus on those particular dynasties, it is certainly crucial to state. It was the message of equality, cohesion, and harmony that Muhammad brought to Arabia, through God, along with trade and business practices, which allowed Islam to shape and mold its message and its influences across vast time and place.

One of the five pillars is Shahadataan or Kalima. This is the declaration or testimony of faith. The declaration itself is very simple and it goes as follows: “I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.” Islam is based on faith and the Unity of God. When one agrees with this statement, they are testifying upon the Unity of Allah and the message of Prophethood. When one witnesses the statement that Muhammad is His messenger, one is verifying that all the prophets before him were also His messengers showing that Allah is one and His message is one. When one declares this statement with their purity of heat and conviction of faith, they are then Muslim.
In recent modern times, the Islamic faith and culture has been scarred by bad publicity and criticism worldwide concerning terrorism, fanaticism, and the treatment of women. All these issues have existed in most religions throughout time, but the treatment of women is different in which most other cultures and religions have minimized the issues and Islam, under its attempts to also end it, has failed to create a society in which the treatment of women is equal to that of men. The treatment of women, beginning from the time when they are born, to the time of their marriage, to the moment of their death, has not been equal to that of men despite the actions taken to end the injustice.
Faith may be a strong basis for obtaining knowledge in religion. Believers perceive a lot of the teachings and practices in a religion as pieces of knowledge due to the fact that they have faith in that religion. In Islam, it is considered wrong to eat pork. Because a Muslim has faith in Islam, their religion, they might consider it a piece of a knowledge that it is wrong to eat pork. This can be considered a piece of knowledge that originates from the faith in the religion. Hence, one can c...
These principles may be common to a number of things, but they are basic in that they are the essence. Knowledge of principles then allows knowledge of the common thing. From that, stems knowledge of the specific thing. Only those who seek specific things know them. Finally, Ibn Sina’s belief that knowledge can bring about change is illustrated in his description of a physician.
The world we live in is multicultural and global, more than ever before. Studying religion doesn’t make the student become Christion or Buddhist or Muslims, it is to desire to understand the world’s inhabitants and cultures. When a person studies religion, they are trained to read closely, think deeply, write convincingly, and analyze the important and decisive roles that religion plays in the lives of people across the globe. If Christians are the only people who understand Christianity, or Muslims understanding Islam, then we are deemed to be in a world of misunderstandings and conflicts. If we surrender understanding of religious ideas to religious individuals, we lose the capability to comprehend the motivations behind the thoughts and actions of anyone beyond our own religious traditions.
The Muslim religion has distinct path on how one should arrive at their belief in God. The Islamic people believe that belief in God is a choice that must be made in full understanding through analysis (Turner, 108). Although some may choose not believe, Muslims believe that there is signs all around us. The rewards of true belief are living in paradise with God, eternally (Turner, 108).The principal requirement in Muslim religion is that one should acquire a state of mind in which he believes that all of creation is signs point to the one God. This belief includes internal and external surrender of oneself.
