Success can be an extremely broad subject. There is an abounding amount of different views on what the “true” definition of success is. Personally, I believe that success is finding happiness. Success is waking up in the morning and not having to worry about whether or not the bills are going to be paid this month. Success is having a job that you enjoy going to every day. Success is having friends and family who love and support you. Success does not mean that one has to be exceedingly rich or have a lakeside mansion. As long as they are happy, they have succeeded in life.

Malcolm Gladwell illustrates throughout the story external factors that are mostly uncontrollable and internal factors like hard work that are very controllable lead to these outliers and unimaginable success stories.

Moreover, as the leader goes up the levels of leadership, it becomes easier for him to lead and his leadership success becomes more profitable. As the leader goes up the levels of leadership, he develops a foundation for effective leadership and builds on the preceding levels. On the other hand, a leader may not be on the same level as all the people under his or her leadership. Thus, a good leader should work hard to improve himself and the people around him and carry other leaders up the leadership levels (Maxwell, 2013).

Success only truly comes with being happy. Happiness and success are the accomplices of one another. Someone cannot have accompanies without the other. Happiness brings success, and success brings even more happiness. Success, in the dictionary, is defined as the achievement of something desired planned or attempted. Therefore, success cannot be judged by anyone than oneself. It is a personal thing. It is the realization of goals, desires or plans made by one 's self. It is not measurable and yet is something we always use to compare others or appraise someone 's worth. Success, in one form or another, is something that someone should always be striving for. For some people it is something they will do subconsciously, and for others it will be something they will constantly labor for. Because success is something that is different for everyone, it is best that they measure their personal success by their sense of self worth instead of others. To have succeeded is to have lived, as someone wanted; ' it is to have lived well and laughed
To become a truly effective leader, one must encapsulate the various behaviors related to the aforementioned course learnings in his/her persona and demonstrate such behaviors daily. This course has allowed me to identify four behaviors that all leaders must portray to be effective. The first of which is that a leader must be inspirational. To do so, a leader must set the appropriate vision and direction for the organization and provide a path to achieving defined goals. Additionally, a leader must induce the proper levels of motivation so that each employee has sufficient incentive to work towards the organization’s goals. As discussed in the class, motivation can be accomplished by factors such as rewarding hard work and providing the correct opportunities to employees. While these are motivating in that employees desire to be fairly compensated and to be doing work they deem valuable, inspiration comes more from organizational culture. A leader will be inspirational by setting a tone that appreciates each employee’s contribution, no matter how small in scale it is. Further, employees are inspired when they work collaboratively in a group setting and can capitalize on individual strengths to drive organizational goals.
Although there are many outstanding, albeit necessary qualities of a good leader, it is the leader’s beliefs in which greatness is given its first breath, fostered by action, and spread throughout the institution. A great leader believes in encouraging, not destroying; in setting the precedence instead of yielding to prominence ; in collaboration, not division; in giving, not taking; and in having high standards and volunteering to be the first of many to be held to them. A great leader does not take advantage of the people being lead, but instead, creates an advantage for the people by giving them the opportunities to lead. Only when people take ownership of an institution will passion be cultivated, action be taken, and greatness be achieved.
A company’s performance is a lot more dependent on the people who are working in the company and the most important members is the leader. The presence of a strong and effective leadership in the information generation imposes great accountabilities to the company’s team and management networks, which serves as a critical element of organizational success (Thinking made easy, 2009). Leaders should set a path to reach the goal, so that the employees gets to follow them and get motivated. A leader should be able to identify the success provided by the employees and all the deserving emplyees should be rewarded accordingly.
Positive leaders have an image, a sense, and a reason. They understand and are able to articulate, trust in, and breathe a comprehensible idea or visualization. Purpose requires them to concentrate on long-term calculated goals. By these actions, not only are leaders engage with organizational requirements but also attend to the society benefits for employees. Remember to ask the question: What really motivates the personnel?
It is not about producing an immediate, perfective outcome, but the journey toward the outcome in which learning took place with the confrontation of challenges and progress (Dweck, 2006, p. 24). When things go wrong along the way, the leader must “face the hard facts, learn what happened and why, and keep using those facts to make the system better” (Pfeffer and Sutton, 2006, p. 232). Effective change does not always happen on the first attempt, but with continued effort and practice the desired end will be visible. The five steps in the Cycle of Excellence by Hallowell (2011) provide insight on how to achieve the peak performance from employees. He first stated that the manager has to select individuals for the right jobs.

Success is something we all wish to achieve and even though we have different definitions of success, we all want to success in different aspects of our lives. For some success, success is attaining an education, others it's getting a good job, for others it's being wealthy, and others to start and own a business while for others it's having a family of our own and seeing our children prosper.
