In Shakespeare's Macbeth, the main character Macbeth is portrayed as a good person. He fights for his kingdom and kills the opposing king. His wife and greed persuade him to kill Duncan the King of Scotland and his guards. Macbeth starts out kind and Lady Macbeth is wicked and then they completely switch; and Macbeth becomes evil and Lady Macbeth turns insane. At first Macbeth does not like the idea of killing King Duncan but after he gets a plan from his wife he decides to kill Duncan: “We will proceed no further in this business: he hath honor’d me of late…” (Mac. Macbeth has a slight innocence and kind when he first decides to not kill King Duncan. He wants to become king but he believes that the witches will do it for him. Macbeth says “When we have mark’d with blood those sleepy two, of his own chamber and used their very daggers” (Mac. I. vii. 84-85.). Macbeth is ok with killing Duncan after the plan; he even envisions picking up the dagger and stabbing Duncan. Macbeth completely trusts in his wife by killing Duncan except for the fact that he does not truly complete the plans as he forgets to kill the guards. Later Macbeth starts killing more that he even kills kids; while Lady Macbeth is scared of getting caught and gets put under watch. She even admits to killing King Duncan. Then Macbeth says, “O, yet I do repent me of my fury, that I did kill them” (Mac. II. iii. 117-118.). Macbeth starts to enjoy killing he feels no regret anymore he has realized that now that he's king nothing stand in his way. Macbeth is crazy with power he kills and feels no guilt or remorse for what he has done. Eventually Lady Macbeth reaches her breaking point and says,"Out, damned, spot! Out, I say!"
