Is Hamlet a soldier, a courtier or a scholar? What else is he?
Hamlet could be a character that bears the strength of his father's revenge that within the variety of ghost compels his son to commit murder of his uncle. It’s a posh character that isn't linear however revolves around the influences of different characters. Thus Hamlet is simply an illustration of an unsecure and indecisive character. ‘The courtier’s, soldier’s, scholar’s, eye, tongue, sword’ this is what Ophelia says about Hamlet when having a conversation with Claudius and Polonius. What Ophelia is actually saying (in a modernised text) is that Hamlet used to have the grace of a gentlemen, the wit of a scholar, and the strength of a soldier. It happens in act three, scene one, and page seven of Shakespeare’s play. Throughout the whole play, Hamlet experiences a lot of suffering from himself by having thoughts of suicide and by his family like him seeing his mother being married to his uncle just one month after his father’s death. The genre of hamlet is a mix of revenge and tragedy and hamlet wants and knows that his uncle murdered his father, but as there is a lot of death and killing, it is also a tragedy. There are certain aspects of Hamlet that he as a character frowns upon. One of them is Lust-is self-indulgent sexual desire (personified as one of the deadly sins); a strong sexual desire; have a craving, appetite, or great desire-For example, his mother marrying his uncle. Hamlet frowns upon it as only a month has past and already his mother is married to his uncle and acts as if nothing happened and says to hamlet that she is happy.

Also, Hamlet could very well easily be seen and recognised as a renaissance man or a polymath. A polymath person could be a person whose experience spans a big range of various subject areas; such someone is thought to draw on complicated bodies and groups of data to resolve specific issues. In Hamlets case it would be resolving the death of his father, collecting information of events and people, and then finally pinpointing his uncle of his actions and the consequences that followed .e.g. the death of his father.
