Every four years, there will be an international sports event held. Under this topic, we are not talking about the FIFA World Cup, which hold in the next month, but the Olympics Games. Most of the Olympics Games can hold successfully, the credit of an international organization is indispensable. This international organization is International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The IOC is an international non-governmental and non-profit organization, which constituted itself on 23 June 1894. They also have an unlimited duration in the form of an association. The organization recognized by the Swiss Federal Council according with an agreement signed on 1 November, 2000. Besides providing a platform for the athletes to battle or competition, the IOC has work out a mission.
“The mission of the IOC is to promote Olympism throughout the world and to lead the Olympic Movement.”
Besides this main purpose, the IOC has also positioning itself as some roles. Some of the ideas of its role are encourage and support the fair play of sports, oppose political or commercial abuse on athletes or sports, support the development of sports, initiatives blending sport with different culture and education et cetera.
The IOC has different powers on managing the Olympic Games, hence there are three organs exercising its power, they are the Session, the IOC Executive Board and the President respectively. They are each responsible for a different job, in order to make the Olympic smoothly.

Looking to the future, Rio 2016 Olympic Games will hold after two years, but some of the venues have not yet begun construction, infrastructure delays. One of the vice president of the IOC John Coates, feel dissatisfied about this, and also claimed this is "the worst" he has ever seen. Few days later, there are rumor that the Olympic Games will change to hold in London by Plan B. The IOC then denies this rumor.
Will Rio de Janeiro complete all the preparation work before the game hold? Is there really a plan B for the Olympic Games? We only have to wait and see, look forward for the next Olympic Games.

Since 776 BCE, the Olympics have been a way for people of different cultures to come together and compete in friendly competition. In 1892 the first modern Olympics were held in Athens, although it had been over a thousand years since the last game it still had brought together an assortment of different religions and ethnic groups together.
