INTRODUCTION An internally displaced person (IDP) is someone who is forced to flee their home but remains within their country's borders and they do not fall within definition of a refugee. At the end of 2006 there were 24.5 million IDPs in some 52 countries. United Nations define, internally displaced persons as, “persons or groups of persons who have been forced to flee or to leave their homes or places of habitual residence, in particular as a result of or in order to avoid the effects of armed conflict, situations of generalized violence, violations of human rights or natural or human-made disasters, and who have not crossed an internationally recognized State border.” It is very difficult to get accurate figures for IDPs because their population is constantly fluctuating as some IDPs may be returning home while others are fleeing, some may periodically return to IDP camps to take advantage of humanitarian aid. In Pakistan military operation against FATA based militants’ network, swat operation black thunderstorm and flood 2010 have caused thousands to flee and settled in Khyber pakhtunkhwa (KPK). Now the majority of IDPs in KPK are from FATA. Different camps in khyberpakhtunkhwa provide shelter to these IDPs who have been forced to move away from their militancy-hit homes. In this regard different camps were settled up for these IDPs including • Jalala Takht Bhai Mardan • Yaar hussain mira Chota Lahore Swabi • Kacha gari I Peshawar • Kacha gari II Peshawar • Jalozai Nowshehra • Sheikh Yaseen town IDPs camp Mardan • Sheikh Shehzad town IDPs camp Mardan • Shahmansoor camp I & II Swabi Jalozai is one of the largest camps in Pakistan. This study is important in this regard that it will focuses on the problems and challenges faced by the IDPs in jalozai camp. This study will highlight the limited access to basic requirements such as shelter, food, clothing, medical care and hygiene. On the basis of this research study we will give recommendations for the concerned authorities and policy makers to practice it for the solutions of these basic problems of IDPs. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY Literature review Reviewing literature about IDPs and their problems. Data collection • To collect IDPs data in jalozai camp through field research/survey and questionnaire. • To find out the priorities and challenges facing by these IDPs. • To find out their basic problems. Sudan, which is located in northeast Africa, is ranked number 190 based on the amount of migrants per thousand people with a total of -4.44 migrants per thousand people. For roughly 12 years (from 2001-2013), Sudan has faced many challenges that push it’s people out of the land and pull them towards other places. These factors are known as push and pull factors. Even though there are many challenges that come with immigration, the results are more rewarding than what they would have been in Sudan. After migrating out of Sudan, these Sudanese migrants also face long-term consequences because of their decision to move.
Refugee is someone who fled his/her country because of conflict or for fear of been prosecuted for reason of race, nationality, religion, sexuality, and political opinion (UNHCR, 1 February, 2002). According to the 1951 Refugee Convention, refugee is a term applied to anyone who is outside his/her own country and cannot return due to the fear of being persecuted on the basis of race, religion, nationality, membership of a group or political opinion. Many “refugees” that the media and the general public refer to today are known as internally displaced persons, which are people forced to flee their homes to avoid things such as armed conflict, generalized violations of human rights or natural and non-natural disasters. These two groups are distinctly different but fall ...
There are a few NGO’s that are trying to help out and some at a local level; they are providing, schooling, foster care, medical care, public distribution system supplementation, shelter and oher assistance to the displaced (Argo, 2006).
Refugees do not simply choose to be “refugees.” There are many aspects that go into account when displacement occurs. War is often associated with refugee displacement. Even a simple task of walking in the streets can be dangerous. In an interview with Time magazine, Syrian refugee Faez al Sharaa says that he was held up at gunpoint with three other people in his homeland after soldiers accused him of being a terrorist. "We felt death upon us," Sharaa said (Altman 24). His backyard turned into a battle ground, while young kids were fighting for their lives (Altman 24). War
Displaced people are people who are forced to leave their home, often due to war, persecution, neglect or abuse. To be displaced is to be separated from a physical place of belonging, one's self, one's friends and family, one's belongings or to be divided from other aspects of their life. Anh Do's memoir ' The Happiest Refugee' and Missy Higgins' song 'Oh Canada', along with the video clip express ideas and experiences of displaced persons.

The Jordanian government and NGOs have an uphill task of providing for the various waves of refugees that have settled in the kingdom. Refugee communities reside both in designated refugee camps and host communities, each having their own set of challenges. It is important that NGOs and the government engages communities by their vulnerability. Vulnerability depends greatly on the racial background and the arrival time of the migrant with African refugees being the most vulnerable. Moreover, the responsibility of the care and protection of refugees also follow on the international community and not just on host countries like Jordan, Turkey, and Lebanon.

The term "environmental refugee" was first proposed in 1976 by Lester Brown. In 2007, The International Organization for Migration (IOM) determined the following definition for environmental migrants: “Environmental migrants are persons or groups of persons who, for compelling reasons of sudden or progressive changes in the environment that adversely affect their lives or living conditions, are obliged to leave their habitual homes, or choose to do so, either temporarily or permanently, and who move either within their country or abroad,” (Migration and the Environment, 2007, p.). In actuality, the IOM proposes three types of environmental migrants. First, the “Environmental Emergency Migrants”, are people who flee temporarily due to an environmental
The first chapter of the book provides a highly informative background and history to the concept of refugees, as well as their relevance to the modern international political system. The authors importantly point out that defining a refugee is not simply a matter of academic concern because resulting definitions may mean the difference between life and death for people in conflict zones. Defining a refugee involves political and ethical considerations, inevitably creating disagreement regarding the issue. For example, when refugees are defined in a certain way by the United Nations, research will consequently revolve around such definitions and will help support the status quo of the institut...

From this website I can see that the UK in 2015 had 117.234 refugees living here. This website also shows different questions and answers which helps us to understand what the refugee crisis is all about. Further on in this website, The UNCHR (The United Nations Refugee Action) have said that presently there are 3.6 million Syrian refugees that have moved to the UK through the UNCHR scheme. A quote from the website states “The vast majority of people who come to the UK have fled countries ravaged by war and human rights abuse”. I believe that the above source is credible because it mentions statistics that have come from The United
