Your Surroundings and How You Act When it comes to the topic of internal and external factors on the person you are, most of us will readily agree that your external factors have more of an affect than internal factors. Where this agreement usually ends, however is on the question of why would the environment change your behavior? Whereas most are convinced that external factors have a lot to do with your behavior, few people still maintain that internal factors are to blame. My feelings on the issue are mixed. I do be;ove that the external factors though have more of an impact on behavior, but I also believe that there are some internal factors that play a small part. In the book Lord of the Flies written by William Golding there is a bunch of little boy’s that were stranded on an island without any adults. They had to learn how to survive and take care of each other and survive. They did a pretty good job so far but they were still mean to a character named Piggy just because he was different than the others. I think that a lot of people need to have adult supervision to make sure that they do the right thing and treat people right. Golding writes “Here, invisible yet strong, was the taboo of the old life. Round the squatting child was he protection of parents and school and policemen and the …show more content…
In making this comment, they suggest that the environment is a very important role in even your emotional state. This would ultimately affect your behavior. If you are emotionally unstable it could make you very angry which can affect the way that you react to certain
Various moral and physical environments can greatly influence the beliefs, ideas, and decisions people make. Our moral environment shapes people's surrounding climate of ideas, influencing how they live. Our physical environment is what individuals depend on, even though it is extremely fragile. Whether one admits it or not, atmospheres can affect everything that occurs in life, and can significantly change people's quality of life over the years. Understanding this concept in depth can be difficult. Furthermore, you might find yourself in a spiral of questions and concerns on how exactly these environments affect human beings. Blackburn's Being Good and Nottage's Sweat give exquisite examples and inferences on how we are affected from the
I thought this book was an okay book. The one thing that I didn’t like about the book was that the author repeated himself a lot throughout the whole book. Something that I will always remember about this book will be the signs of antisocial behavior that the author tells parents to look out for because I am a parent myself. If I had to recommend this book I would recommend it to parents and people that deal with antisocial children as part of their occupation.
Over millions of years, man has transformed from a savage, simple creature to a highly developed, complex, and civil being. In Lord of the Flies, the author William Golding shows how under certain circumstances, man can become savage. During nuclear war, a group of British schoolboys crash land on an uninhabited island to escape. Ralph the elected leader, along with Piggy and Simon, tries to maintain civilization, while Jack and his group of choir boys turned hunters slowly become savages obsessed with killing. Through characters’ action and dialogue, Golding illustrates the transformation of civil schoolboys into bloodthirsty savages.
Katherine Paterson once said, “To fear is one thing. To let fear grab you by the tail and swing you around is another.” William Golding, who is a Nobel Prize winner for literature, writes Lord of the Flies, originally published in 1954. Golding’s novel is about a group of boys who crash land on an island. All of the adults are dead and they are abandoned on an island. The boys try to set rules and create a fire in efforts of being rescued. The group of boys chooses Ralph to be their leader. This choosing makes a literary character named Jack, who doesn’t show his anger until half way through the plot. The novel shows the nature of humans and how fear can control them. The novel also shows the difference between good and evil. Golding experienced this when he was in World War II. There were many times fear controlled the boys in the island in Lord of the Flies.
' I believe that man suffers from an appalling ignorance of his own nature '.
Have you ever questioned someone’s behavior and wonder what makes them behave the way they do? “Lord of the Flies,” by William Golding introduces a group of boys stranded on an island with no adult supervision which means no rules or authority. The group of boys face many conflicts and complications due to the situation they are in. Their behavior is to blame due to the environment and the situation they are in, however many believe that their behavior comes from internal “genetics” not external the “environment”. A person’s behavior can be influenced by their inner self which comes from our heredity, but in most cases I believe that behavior is influenced by the situation and the environment that is faced.
The author, William Golding uses the main characters of Ralph, Jack, and Simon in The Lord of the Flies to portray how their desire for leadership, combined with lack of compromise leads to the fall of their society. This desire for leadership and compromise led to the fall of their society just like multiple countries during times of wars.
Humans are inherently evil in nature and without law will unknowingly let this vile aspect of their own person be revealed. The depravity of actions in humans is expressed in William Golding’s novel, Lord of the Flies, by a group of English boys that are stranded on an island, and disconnected from society. The fear from violation of laws that holds people to their morals and rationality in their society vanishes, and a growth of savagery is present in all the boys. Savagery, an element innate to humanity, can only be repressed by the laws of society; the lack of regulation removes all inhibition, and therefore, exposes the beast representing evil from within.

In his novel Lord of the Flies, William Golding shows a story of boys who are trapped on an island, and must figure out how to survive. The story represents the fall of mankind, as symbolism is present throughout the entire novel. It is best seen through a historical perspective. Golding uses events from his own lifetime, the Operation Pied Paper, and Hitler’s ruling to compare it to the major events, the beginning of the story, and Jack’s personality.
The novel that I am going to talk about is Lord of the Flies by

My view of the environment has affected my nursing care in that I believe it is important nurses be culturally competent of different cultural and religious practices because they provide clues about each persons well being. People are affected by their environments in many different ways. Sometimes, it can be a positive change, and others, a more negative change. They can be changed physically, mentally, and emotionally. It could be if they are more of a leader than a follower or if they have high, or low self esteem, this is all changed by their environment. People are affected physically through their environment both positively and negatively.
Internally caused behaviors are those that are believed to be under the personal control of the individual. Externally caused behavior is seen as resulting from outside causes; that is, the person is seen as having been forced into the behavior by the situation.
It has been popular to attribute deviant behaviour to a single cause or factor, such as physical, psychological, environmental etc. There are many different inside influences that are believed to affect the way a child acts both negatively and positively, some of which are as follows : -
