Eugenio Debres is a Mexican comedian, actor, film direction as well as a screen write and an author. He was born on September 2,1961. Debres was one of the writers who wrote instruction not included. The movie Instructions not Included (No Se Aceptan Devoluciones) is a family affliction drama that shows how a dad goes from being a so called playboy and enjoying life to now becoming a father to a little girl who was left by the mom. On August 30,2013 the movie Instruction Not Include was released in the United States. Instruction not Included took nearly 12 years to be produced and released out
in the theater worldwide. When asked why it took him a long time to produced this movie, Debrez response was “To compete in this market, against the huge American blockbusters where millions and millions of dollars are spent, where [we] as Hispanics don’t have that [kind of] money to make those films, the only way to compete against that is by having a good script...and good actors. The script, I think, is the star of every film. That’s why it took us so long.” So in his words basically stating that not every movie producer has that type of money just laying around to make a movie.
Portugueses is my maternal grandmother’s native language and hearing it is comforting. My grandmother has been gone for seven years seeing this film reminded me of her. “Val” the lead actor in the film (played by Regina Case) had some of the same mannerisms as my grandmother. This made me feel that some of my grandmothers cute quirks(like the way she covered her mouth when she made a mistake) were cultural and not exclusive to her.

In the play, Ruined, Lynn Nottage the playwright shows how alcohol is important to the people of the Congo and how alcohol changes oneself. The play is based in the war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo in a bar/brothel that is owned by Mama Nadie. People come in the bar for sexual service and for a drink. The people of this area come to the bar to let go of their regrets because of the war or there hard work. One important man comes to the bar and changes from alcohol. His name is Christian a salesman to Mama and an uncle to one of Mama's workers. Throughout Ruined Christian a once respecful sober man changes because of his new desire for alcohol instead of Fanta.
In the book Don’t Shoot, David Kennedy and his associates used a focused deterrence approach of policing. The first thing that goes into the focused deterrence approach is mapping out the crime that needs to be dealt with. Receiving 911 calls will help in mapping out the crimes you are looking for, and knowing where they are coming from in that particular city. After you figured out where all the crimes are being committed, everyone in the criminal justice system needs to come together. This includes, probation officer, police officers, DA, judges, and even the community members. After watching the Teach Us All documentary on Netflix, it opened my eyes to many of the issues regarding educational inequality. The study looked at schools in Little Rock, New York City, and Los Angeles to show us the current state of U.S. education and how far we have come since the school desegregation crisis. The thesis of this documentary is that since the efforts of the Little Rock Nine, our belief is that educational inequality has improved when in reality, it hasn’t improved and the actions of our country have had negative effects. Teach Us All emphasizes the need for unity and collective action to improve our education system for the kids in poor communities that are in the most need. In the play “The Piano Lesson”, August Wilson utilizes two main characters Boy Willie and Berniece to present the theme of gender roles and sexual politics. The reaction of the siblings toward the piano illustrates the role of a man and woman during the conflict. Throughout the entire play they argue over the piano and struggle with an underlying problem of choosing to honor their ancestors or leaving the family’s history in the past. Boy Willie wants to show respect to his ancestors by selling the piano to continue the Charles’s family legacy. He wants to buy Sutter’s land because Sutter was a white slave master who forced his ancestors to work on the land. However, Berniece wants to keep the piano and doesn’t want to use it because of fear. The disagreement between the siblings shows the play’s representation of gender differences.
The Piano Lesson by August Wilson is taking place in Pittsburg because many Blacks travelled North to escape poverty and racial judgment in the South. This rapid mass movement in history is known as The Great migration. The migration meant African Americans are leaving behind what had always been their economic and social base in America, and having to find a new one. Berniece wants to have it for sentimental reasons, while Boy Willie wants it so he can sell it and buy land. ‘Das Leben der Anderen’ (The Lives of Others) is a striking example of how a director can convey narrative links within a film by employing various styles and film techniques. The Lives of Others relies upon these visual means to assist with the telling of the story as much as it relies upon the script. In this selected sequence of the film, several narrative links are drawn here to form the conclusion of ‘Operation Lazlo’. These narrative links are further cemented by Donnersmarck’s use of various lighting styles, diegtic and non-diegtic sound, revealing camera shots and intricate mise-en-scene.
At 23 years of age, Rodriguez knew he wanted to get started working on a film that would open doors for him. While the script is often one of the most crucial elements in a film, the brevity of speech and precise movements of the primary character accentuate the changing nature of his integrity. As viewers follow Captain Wiesler of the East German secret police, it is soon clear that he only says what is necessary, such as when noting his surveillance partner’s lateness or setting instructions for the surveillance bugging team (“twenty minutes”). The Criminal Justice System is made up of several different process law enforcement, judiciary, and corrections this system is where the accused individual are tried and punished for the crime they are charged with. The depiction of criminal justice system in throughout each process (police, courts, and correctional) has become ubiquitous on television today. Shows that give a visual of the arresting and investigation process (law enforcement) are the televisions shows “Cops” and “The First 48 Hours”. The show “Cops” is a television series that follows police officers, constables and sheriff deputies around during their patrol and other policing activity (Cops, n.d). Showing the officer enforcing the laws of the land, apprehend offenders, reducing and prevent crimes, maintain public order, provide emergency and related community services and more” (Schmalleger F., 2014). The “Cops” show conveys the initial stage of the law enforcement. The images or positive (in my opinion) when it comes to showing the actual community services the law enforcers provide. This allow police to become more integrated in to the communities. Reducing the amount of fear toward the particular criminal justice profession. It has change the outlook on policing in the communities and enhances the level of trust from the communities for law enforcement. This allows for a sufficient reduction and prevent crimes when law enforcement and the people of the community come together. “The First 48 Hour” is a show that shows the criminal justice process from the crime, arrest, to the investigation stages in the criminal justice process. When attempting to bring about change, some people are more successful at it than others. Some people find it relatively easy to change something while for others it is very difficult. One of the reasons that occurs is because the successful people enhance and utilize their skills in order to bring about change. In the book Insight Out by Tina Seelig, four main skills are discussed in a hierarchal and cyclic system. Seelig then highlights each skill in turn and includes projects for the reader to do in order to enhance that particular skill. These skills include imagination, creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
In today’s educational environment, all students expect to receive the same level of instruction from schools and all students must meet the same set of standards. Expectations for students with learning disabilities are the same as students without any learning difficulties. It is now unacceptable for schools or teachers to expect less from one segment of students because they have physical disabilities, learning disabilities, discipline problems, or come from poor backgrounds. Standardize testing has resulted in making every student count as much as their peers and the most positive impact has been seen with the lowest ability students. Schools have developed new approaches to reach these previously underserved students while maintaining passing scores for the whole student body. To ensure academic success, teachers employ a multi-strategy approach to develop students of differing abilities and backgrounds. Every student is different in what skills and experiences they bring to the classroom; their personality, background, and interests are as varied as the ways in which teachers can choose to instruct them. Differentiated instruction has been an effective method in which teachers can engage students of various backgrounds and achieve whole-class success. When using differentiated instruction, teachers develop lesson strategies for each student or groups of students that provide different avenues of learning but all avenues arrive at the same learning goal.
I wanted to start telling the story of our experience by sharing the feelings I brought into this exercise. A few years ago I underwent an experience of coaching through several sessions that left me this taste in the mouth that the coaching as a tool to develop others is not very effective. I have not taken the time to deeply analyze what went wrong but in general if I had to choose to do it again I think I would choose another methodology to foster change. Its objective in general is to assist in building behavioral skills, but in my opinion to really look for a long lasting change you need to give a deeper understanding to the lack of a certain skills, strongly reflect on the variables linked to it as could be the emotions, values and motivations that conduce you towards a behavior different that that one desired. Personally, I enjoy seeking information that allows me to jump beyond the facts, and staying on the behavioral side of the reality limits my passion for inspiration and insight.
In Noh there are many things that are significant, and that have deeper meanings. For instance the simple way that they walk, sing, and move all mean something more. While doing the presentations on a Noh play I noticed something beautiful about the play that I had chosen. Spring was mentioned a lot, it had many cameos in the play. In Yuya the entire back story of the play is the discussions of going to see the cherry blossoms. Spring in Japan means a whole lot more than just another season. It means new life, and new beginnings, a way for family to come together and start anew. So while taking this course I really picked up on the seasonal aspect of Noh whether it be spring, autumn, summer, or winter. Each setting gave a new feeling of how people reacted, and it’s true in real life also. So in this essay even though spring will be the main topic I will be discussing all of the seasons and what they mean in Japanese culture, with some symbolic things and Noh examples also.
