The Murders of Innocent Babies
When I was younger, I was deeply against abortion due to myself believing it was just morally wrong. I went around thinking who in their right mind would want to kill an innocent baby who cannot even fend for themselves. I surely did not want a death of pure baby to be on my subconsciousness. Now, almost five years later my views on abortion are changing immensely. Yes I still believe denying a baby a chance to life is still horrible, but now I am not only looking at the rights of the baby, but also the rights of the mother.
Killing a new born baby is considered a murder crime although killing an unborn child is not. For example, if you were to go anywhere in the world and told someone a mother just killed her newborn child many would want the mother locked up for the rest of her life along with a slur of hateful curse words. So why does it make a difference if the child is still in the womb? Killing a child is killing a child. What if the child you wanted to murder was going to grow up and change lives. Mexican singer, Jenni Rivera, own mother tried to abort her plenty of times with home remedies and failed. If her mother was successful, then Jenni would not have became an activist against child abuse, create her own foundation to help abuse victims, and most of all tell her own personal story to help other individuals.
“Saying women shouldn't be allowed to get abortions because they were the ones who had unprotected sex is like saying smokers shouldn't receive treatment for lung cancer or drivers shouldn't receive treatment in a car crash because they knew the risk when they got a driving license.” Women are allowed to have the rights to their own body and who am I or anyone to have a say in t...

... television's fault, but television is tightly looped with social media.
Although television sets unrealistic expectations on body image it also does some good. For example, if a natural disaster or a war is brewing we are able to be informed in a matter of minutes to an hour. When a hurricane called Sandy hit we were informed quickly and sent help immediately. People from all over the world were sending money, food, and their time to help. Television also makes us more connected by making us feel like we are not so far apart.
Television in terms is a good and bad thing that we just cannot receive enough of. For some individuals TV is their drug, their addiction; others it is a way to retrieve information about their community and the world around them. Television itself it not a horrible thing, but it is the way you use it to affect your life which can kill you.
The sentencing of underage criminals has remained a logistical and moral issue in the world for a very long time. The issue is brought to our perspective in the documentary Making a Murderer and the audio podcast Serial. When trying to overcome this issue, we ask ourselves, “When should juveniles receive life sentences?” or “Should young inmates be housed with adults?” or “Was the Supreme Court right to make it illegal to sentence a minor to death?”. There are multiple answers to these questions, and it’s necessary to either take a moral or logical approach to the problem.
In America abortion is one of the most heavily debated topics in recent years. Pro-life or pro-choice? Many people believe it is immoral and even consider abortion to be murder. The definition of abortion states “The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth” Did you know that 1 in 3 women in the U.S. will have an abortion in their lifetime? (Baker, Aspen. "A Better Way to Talk about Abortion." Aspen Baker:. N.p., n.d. Web. 25 Aug. 2016.) When first researching this topic I wondered, “What’s the big deal? Why would it matter if someone who was never even born, died?” And I realized that babies that would have been born due to abortion,
Have you ever wondered what could cause a person to kill another person? How they could do it time and time again and not feel one ounce of regret? Serial killer Joel Rifkin asked himself this same question after he was convicted of killing 17 women. He wondered why he could commit such a violent act, and he decided to have scientist explore his brain to give him the answers that he wanted. Dr. Daniel Amen examined Joel’s brain scans, “When I looked at Joel Rifkin’s scan, I thought to myself, this is a brain that is vulnerable to violence. He had low activity in his prefrontal cortex that most human thoughtful part of the brain” ("Joel Rifkin - Psychopathic Brain"). Joel is not alone on this, 13 out of every 20 serial killers that have been
By definition, a serial killer is ‘an individual who murders more than three victims, one at a time during a relatively short interval’, but is it possible to define the reasons and motives behind these attacks? One of the most intriguing aspects of crime throughout the years has been focused on serial killers. What makes a serial killer tick? There is not any one, straightforward answer as to what motivates individuals to commit murder. “Unravelling the making of a serial killer is like aligning a Rubik's cube”.
Many people who don’t know much about abortion don’t know how truly horrifying and serious it is. There are many small details about the baby that could change a woman’s mind in an instant on whether or not they think abortion is the way to go. Women usually don’t realize how it works or what exactly is happening to the baby. They usually think to themselves that it isn’t really a baby or a human form yet, but they are wrong. The baby has already developed fingers, eyelids, a brain, knees, and many other human features by just only seven weeks into the pregnancy (What your baby). Unborn developing babies are much more “human” tha...
...ke all men, women have the right to chose form themselves, furthermore Trap laws and the Supreme court ruling of the Planned parenthood V. Casey is unconstitutional because they are controlling the choice of women have an abortion. Women with unwanted pregnancies may not able to support or care for the child and may suffer growing up. The Roe v. Wade Supreme court ruling that women should have abortion access with out restriction as long it is with in the first three months of the pregnancy.
Abortion has become an issue Americans feel strongly about, and it has created enormous debates within the United States. It has been around for years, and is certainly not a new option for women who find themselves in an unwanted pregnancy. Even though terminations have become safer for women, there are still strong arguments against abortion. Whether one is for or against abortion depends on a combination of beliefs, as well as pressures from society. While some believe in the right to choose, others consider it as murder; in both cases the turmoil of abortion has an extreme affect on a woman.
One effect TV has had on how we view things is in the area of advertisement. A few weeks ago in English, my class had quite a discussion on the subject of commercials. A person can tell what type of society they live in by simply watching the commercials during any TV program. One example, in America, is the numerous ads for various types of medication. From this, it is easy to see that our society cares a lot about health care and making sure that they feel healthy.
Some women have accepted the definition that a woman’s prime role as wife and mother is to have control of one’s own body and mind (Reardon 3) .Once they had choices about life roles, they felt that they had the right to choose abortion or not. Any and every woman should have the ability to choose when to have a child in their lives. Many women feel that if they did not have the right to choose an abortion, they would have passed by many opportunities to create a better life for themselves. Some people might not agree with their decisions, but in the ends it is theirs.
Jack the Ripper, the Zodiac Killer, Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy, Son of Sam, the BTK Killer. The names and assumed names of these cold-blooded serial killers are forever branded into the cognizance of people everywhere. This is mainly due to the mass media coverage, including newspapers, movies, television specials and books. This media coverage brought to light that these killers were, on the surface, normal, successful, attractive, productive members of society – that is, until the time that their heinous crimes came to be discovered.
In conclusion, women have the right to have abortions and to not have abortions. They have the right because it’s their body and it’s unfair to deny any woman that right without knowing the circumstances or situation. At the end of the women have to do what’s best for them and that unborn child and if they don’t have the necessary tools and lifestyle for them and the baby. Advocates of abortion believe that abortion is seriously wrong but it’s the women’s the decision not theirs, they have the right.
According to pro-life arguments, some of the reasons people are against abortion is because they view abortion as murder because life begins at conception, which means unborn babies are human beings from the beginning. Another argument is that the fetus can feel pain during an abortion and there are plenty of arguments against abortion regarding religion. The abortion is murder opinion is a popular one, individuals justify it by saying the fetus and mother are two different individuals; with that being said, the mother should not have a choice to abort the baby, because it is a separate being. Although science shows the fetus develops features fairly early in the pregnancy that make it seem more human, the fetus is still inside the woman’s body and what she wants to do with that fetus should be her choice.
On any normal given day if you were to kill another human being you would be greatly punished for your crimes, if not put to death because of your actions. So, what is it that makes the unborn babies less important than anyone else. If anything we should go above and beyond to make sure these babies are taking care of properly because they are unable to help themselves at all, and when the mother does not want the baby who is left to fight for the baby’s life. Even if the pregnancy was unwanted, unplanned, to early, or just a mistake there is still a baby’s life on the line when you begin to talk about abortion. Others might fight for the right to terminate the pregnancy before the baby has a heartbeat, but even if there is no heartbeat yet there will be and we do not have the right to take that away. The last argument on the opposing side I would like to talk about is the assumption that abortion is safer than child birth. Many articles and studies have shown that abortions are not dangerous to the mother. Linda Lowen’s article states “the vast majority of women- 88% who have an abortion do so in the first trimester and medical abortions have less than 0.5% risk of serious complications.” (Linda Lowen pg. 2) So `many women will use this as an excuse or reasoning for terminating the pregnancy. In my opinion many advancements in
Michael Sanders, a Professor at Harvard University, gave a lecture titled “Justice: What’s The Right Thing To Do? The Moral Side of Murder” to nearly a thousand student’s in attendance. The lecture touched on two contrasting philosophies of morality. The first philosophy of morality discussed in the lecture is called Consequentialism. This is the view that "the consequences of one 's conduct are the ultimate basis for any judgment about the rightness or wrongness of that conduct.” (Consequentialism) This type of moral thinking became known as utilitarianism and was formulated by Jeremy Bentham who basically argues that the most moral thing to do is to bring the greatest amount of happiness to the greatest number of people possible.
