Introduction:
Furnace is an appliance used for heating or melting materials. It is mainly used in industries to achieve their products. There are many types of furnaces of them, blast furnace, electric arc furnace, induction furnace are the most used ones. Especially induction furnace is widely used in many industries mostly steel plants due to its advantages over the rest.
Induction furnace uses the law of induction in heating the element. It uses electricity to heat elements that are conductive in nature. Since it is a non-contact heating process, it does not contaminate the material that is being heated. It is very efficient as the heat is generated inside the work piece. This can be contradicted with other furnaces where the heat is produced from an external flame and then induced it to the work piece. These advantages mark induction heating to a unique application in the industry.
Here in this review I am going to highlight the control techniques and advantages of the electric induction furnace used in steel melting.
Review:
When there is a change in the magnetic field near a material which is electrically conductive, there will be a current produced in the material know as eddy current. This eddy current is responsible for the heating of the material. The amount of eddy currents produced in the conductor depends mainly on the external magnetic field. Heat generation can be controlled by the magnetic field as the heat generated in the element is directly proportional to the current which depends on the magnetic flux. So heat is indirectly controlled by the magnetic flux.
Our aim is to vary the magnetic flux. This process is similar to that of a transformer. In a transformer current is controlled by voltage. Similar to t...

Older controlling techniques use 16 pulse or 8 pulse rectifiers which are now replaced by 24 pulse rectifiers, which makes it effective in power factor regulation.
Advantages of induction furnace:
• Robust and simple in construction
• Cost effective
• Can reach up to peak temperatures in no time
Conclusion:
Furnaces are designed considering many factors; some of them are efficiency, cost, construction etc. Induction furnace with a 24 pulse converter can solve these problems many industries are now actually facing. Desired temperatures can be attained within no time.

10.4) In animal cells cytokinesis involves the formation of a cleavage furrow which pinches the cell in two. While in plants cells cytokinesis involves the division of cytoplasm by late telophase, so the daughter cells appear shortly after the end of mitosis.
Historically it was used as a domestic fuel and was mainly utilized to run steam powered engines, provide heat for buildings, generate electricity at an efficient rate and also provided the high heat temperatures that were required to extract specific metals from their ores, otherwise known as metallurgy. Although the modern world has nearly moved away from using coal as a primary source of energy; the trials and tribulations regarding the gathering of this fuel throughout history has created employment, powered the boom of the industrial revolution and also posed many circumstances that could be considered disastrous and/or non-compliant to human rights as we see it today.
Out of this furnace, a novel by Thomas bell, a historical story about two characters George kracha and mike Dobrejcak. Although George and Mike were Slovakian they had different households. George kracha is an immigrant that arrived in New York in 1881, he worked in railroads, and steel mills in western Pennsylvania. After quitting the steel mills, he started his own meat market it was a success until his business started falling apart because of poor investing decisions he made. Mike Dobrejcak, who married Mary the daughter of George kracha. Mike also worked in steel mills like George, the job wasn’t something that could help their families. Mike started working when he was twelve years old, and he came as an immigrant when he was fourteen
Blacksmith is a person who makes and repairs things in iron by hand. According to the website “History of blacksmith” Blacksmiths gained skills during the Iron Age which is the common use of Iron. During this time someone discovered this material and knew that it could be used to make utilities and weapons such as knives and arrowheads. One procedure they had to produce iron was melting it on a container made out of clay called bloomery, it could be made into any shape by hammering it to the wanted figure. Another method was the cast iron which was
“Out of This Furnace” is a novel written by Thomas Bell, which entails the story of immigrant labor and a Slovak’s family immigration to America. In the beginning, the book focuses on George Kracha, who migrates to the U.S. in hopes to escape poverty and oppression in Hungaria. However, during his transit and through fault of his own, George finds himself with only fifty cents to continue his migration to Pennsylvania. George Kracha successfully arrives with his relatives and secures a position working for the railroad. Over time, George Kracha’s wife migrates to America, his family begins to grow, and Kracha shifts working from railroad to steel mills at Braddock. Kracha’s hope to obtain a better life in America becomes unseizable when he
Anybody and everybody can become an industrial machinery mechanic; especially, those who are passionate about getting their hands plastered in motor oil, grease, and other mechanical lubricants. These people will more than likely be ecstatic about getting into industrial machinery mechanics. They need to be able to put in one hundred ten percent of their effort into becoming an industrial machinery mechanic. An industrial machinery mechanic’s overall objective on the job is to stop a mechanical error before it happens. An industrial machinery mechanics are often caught repairing, maintaining, and fabricating machinery. They will be required to have certain education and training as well as some on the job training or complete an apprenticeship program. They will receive many benefits for working in this particular field.
· B-phase transformer (EMTU-TT01) · Feedback electronic wattmeter · Multi-range moving-iron ammeter · Instrument voltage transformer THEORY AND INTRODUCTION ----------------------- Transformers are used all over the world to step-up and step-down electricity. The transformer is one of the most commonly used electrical devices. The reason the transformer is so popular is because they range in size from 240V to well over 240kV, stepping -up and stepping-down electricity all over the world.
When we place two objects with different temperatures in contact with each other, the heat from the hotter object will immediately and automatically flow to the colder object. This is known as conduction. Some objects make excellent conductors of heat while others make poor conductors of heat or excellent insulators. Silver, copper, and gold make excellent conductors of heat. Foams and plastics make good insulators of heat but make poor conductors. Last night for dinner, I made myself a grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of tomato soup. I heated the soup faster than I cooked the sandwich so I poured the hot soup into a bowl and finished cooking the sandwich. Once I was done cooking, I gabbed the soup bowl and burned my hand. The heat from the soup made the bowl hot. This is an example of conduction.
Using coal is one of the most historical ways to generate electricity around worldwide. According to the book Your World in Motion: The Story of Energy by George Barrow, the author stated that the first time people used thermal power by coal was at north train station Paris in 1875. The technology of the generators, the manufacturing of steam turbines and the power transmissions has been improved step...
The basis for the understanding of the heat treatment of steels is the Fe-C phase diagram. Because it is well explained in earlier volumes of Metals Handbook and in many elementary textbooks, the stable iron-graphite diagram and the metastable Fe-Fe3 C diagram. The stable condition usually takes a very long time to develop, especially in the low-temperature and low-carbon range, and therefore the metastable diagram is of more interest. The Fe-C diagram shows which phases are to be expected at equilibrium for different combinations of carbon concentration and temperature. We distinguish at the low-carbon and ferrite, which can at most dissolve 0.028 wt% C at 727 oC and austenite which can dissolve 2.11 wt% C at 1148 oC. At the carbon-rich side we find cementite. Of less interest, except for highly alloyed steels, is the d-ferrite existing at the highest temperatures. Between the single-phase fields are found regions with mixtures of two phases, such as ferrite + cementite, austenite + cementite, and ferrite + austenite. At the highest temperatures, the liquid phase field can be found and below this are the two phase fields liquid + austenite, liquid + cementite, and liquid + d-ferrite. In heat treating of steels the liquid phase is always avoided. Some important boundaries at single-phase fields have been given special names. These include: the carbon content at which the minimum austenite temperature is attained is called the eutectoid carbon content. The ferrite-cementite phase mixture of this composition formed during cooling has a characteristic appearance and is called pearlite and can be treated as a microstructural entity or microconstituent. It is an aggregate of alternating ferrite and cementite particles dispersed with a ferrite matrix after extended holding close to A1. The Fe-C diagram is of experimental origin. The knowledge of the thermodynamic principles and modern thermodynamic data now permits very accurate calculations of this diagram.
Again, it is the most common means of energy transfer and by understanding exactly what conduction means, we can identify it in some of the simple things we do. For instance, think of a pot placed on the stove, on a hot burner. The burner and the bottom of the pot are obviously touching, therefore the pot begins to heat up and get hot as well. As physical contact is the key element in heat transfer through conduction, we can see how important a role it plays in this situation. Now, say that your food is done, you turn the burner off and grab the handle of the pot, only to find that it is extremely hot as well. Again, we can thank conduction for this- as the heat was transferred through the bottom of the pot to the handle. Another example of conduction can be seen through ironing. We plug in and heat up the iron prior to placing it on the clothing in which we wish to smooth out. Once the iron has heated up, we place it on top of the article of clothing and it then heats up the clothing as well. Again, physical contact between the iron and the shirt show us that conduction plays the role of heat transfer in this scenario too. For a final example of heat transfer through conduction, let’s imagine a child, playing outside in the snow on a rather cold day. Once outside for a bit, he is freezing and decides to come inside. He takes off his snow gear, cuddles up to his father and begins to warm up
There are hundreds of occupation around the world, few of which anyone would want to do. Being an electrician is one of them. Electrician keep lighting, electrical system around a building and generator working. Being an electrician can also be dangerous. You can die if you get Electrocuted by touching cables that have running current through them.
Magnets are stones that produce magnetic fields. The magnetic field is invisible, but is responsible for the most noticeable aspect of a magnet: the attraction of a metal object or the repulsion of another magnet. Magnets are used in common everyday household items: credit cards, TVs, speakers, motors, and compasses. A magnets strength is measured by its magnetic moment. (“Magnetism”)
Temperature has a large effect on particles. Heat makes particles energized causing them to spread out and bounce around. Inversely the cold causes particles to clump together and become denser. These changes greatly F magnetic the state of substances and can also influence the strength of magnetic fields. This is because it can alter the flow of electrons through the magnet.
